Mission Statement
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Our school mission is to provide high quality elementary education; teach basic Christian principles and Biblical truths; and assist parents in the spiritual, academic, and physical training of their children.
The Holy Word Lutheran Church congregation has entrusted the Board of Education with the responsibility of administering the best possible programs of Christian education. The focus of the board is to provide a balance of nurture and outreach through ministries anchored in the Biblical truth of Law and Gospel. The Board also seeks to help parents grow spiritually so that they may become better spiritual leaders and examples for their children as well as grow in confidence of our educational programs.
Our Lutheran elementary school provides an educational structure where Jesus Christ rules supreme through His Word. Our school also serves the unchurched in the community, consistent with the church's purpose to reach out to the unchurched with the Gospel.
Christian education lets God's infallible Word speak:
- To impress upon the student the scriptual truth that all men are by nature dead in sin and are eternally lost without any ability to save themselves or to do anything spiritually pleasing in God's sight.
- To comfort the student with the scriptural truth that Jesus Christ redeemed all people from sin and its curse and has won full salvation and eternal life for them as a free gift.
