Board of Directors File Lawsuits and Lose Again against residents after running for election in HVCA?

Do we really want a lawyer that helps the Board harass and intimidate residents?
During
the Board Meeting of January 20, 2000, a BOARD DIRECTOR summoned Precinct 5 Constables with the report that a single male resident was threatening the board with "bodily harm". Many in the audience can confirm that this was NOT the case. No threat was made of anyone, and this action was totally unnecessary. Never fear..... this same board member used the arriving officers with sirens blaring to eject all residents immediately after the scheduled board meeting or BE CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASS UNDER THREAT OF ARREST. At least one resident, a credentialed reporter, was of particular concern. He had a camera and was photographing the event. That resident was personally and quickly escorted out the door given the choice of leaving "NOW" or FACE IMMEDIATE ARREST! The Board Members, along with their Hired
Lawyer and Billing Management Co. Representative, claimed that they were about to enter into a "secret" executive forum. We can only guess that this is a continuation of the usual "tactics" in pursuing their "lawsuits" against the residents paying the bills. There are so many lawsuits ongoing, we can only guess which actions they would be conspiring with on this particular evening.
During the scheduled Board Meeting, a FORMAL REQUEST
was made in writing and orally by a resident for the Board to make available records regarding questionable expenditures in the "office supply" category. With a budget of approx. $90 for Year 1999, the board appears to have spent over $7,000, A 7,700% + INCREASE IN SPENDING OVER BUDGET FOR THIS CATEGORY. As of May 1, 2000 this required to be made available information, according to our Deed Restrictions, no response from the Board has been forthcoming.
HV Residents Present Respond to Their Board's Actions In Their Own Words:
For those arriving for the next scheduled Board Meeting of February 17, 2000, they were surprised to find a locked door with a notice taped on the door that the meeting was CANCELLED! This action after previously demanding that a number of residents appear to discuss their deed restriction violations. We found no resident who had been notified of this 11th hour cancellation prior to arriving to a locked door.
