This is the second most important subject on this website, and will equal or surpass the information contained in another topic. It has taken years to document the case histories you will be presented with here, (and this will only be a fraction) and even longer before we arrived at the conclusions you will find presented for your review.
The bottom line is simple:
- The Lawyer you pay for is NOT your Lawyer! She operates fully on behalf and at the whim of the Board of Directors. The Lawyer you pay for Does NOT represent you!
- Our governing documents do not provide any realistic means of dispute resolution.
- The lawyer makes money whenever the Board of Directors unilaterally "Declare" a conflict.
- If the lawyer easily resolves the conflicts, he/she does not make as much money.
- Our governing documents need to be amended to provide a means of resolving disputes.
- As long as we use a lawyer who specializes in collections and litigation, the focus will be collections and litigation against the membership.
We have uncovered cases in the Association records and Harris County public records about Huntington Village Community Association that should not be happening. We discovered liens filed against residents who had paid their assessments in full and on time, threats of foreclosures, residents who had been forced to make years of installment payments to the lawyer, and much more. There are many, many more case studies than the situations we will be documenting on this site.

What if out of a clear blue sky you received a letter from a lawyer placing a lien on your property for some unknown violation you did not commit? This has happened to more than one Huntington Village resident.

There are honest and community-oriented lawyers out there who would help us to improve Huntington Village by amending our documents to include some positive type of dispute resolution and by refusing to cooperate with the bullying and deliberate lying that has gone on here for years.
