He was born before the days of the "Gold Rush," on March 6, 1847, and lived to see all of our Modern Day inventions come into fruition - including the ATOMIC BOMB! He passed peaceably and in apparent good health, October 10, 1945. Dr. Landone compressed into his century of living an unbelievable career of discoveries, services and teachings. He became one of the first doctors known as a neurologist, was an ordained minister, and was popularly received as a lecturer both in the United States and abroad, thereby being well qualified to teach, from both a medical and spiritual viewpoint, the most advanced methods of achieving mental and physical serenity. He was Editor-in-Chief of a "History of Civilization" with Associate Editors Lorado Taft, William Hubbard, Edmund James and other noted educators. He was Executive Director of the New Educational Movement for an international committee of 100 educators. Before settling down to a life devoted entirely to spiritual and mystical pursuits, Dr. Landone made an economic and financial survey of the German Empire in 1912-1913, which enabled him to predict World War I six months in advance. In 1895 he organized the first boy's activities in the Y.M.C.A." |

Healing Quest: In the Sacred Space of the Medicine Wheel - Our
price $3.00 (Originally
$12.95) by Marie Herbert Paperback, 193 pgs, Copyright 1996, First published by Samuel Weiser, Inc., 1997. |
From
the back of the book: "When her youngest daughter, Pascale, was
preparing to leave for boarding school, Marie Herbert wanted to mark the
end of the child-rearing phase of her life by a rite of passage. Wishing
to find a new life-path for herself, she planned to go on a vision quest
- a journey of personal transformation-under the guidance of Native
American healers. Pascale's sudden, tragic death made Herbert's odyssey
far more poignant and urgent than she could have imagined. Healing Quest is the extraordinary description of Marie Herbert's inner and outer journey toward a renewed wholeness. She traveled through the southwestern United States, meeting with different Native American shamans, master storytellers, and medicine people. These healers kept suggesting that she shouldn't go through with her preconceived notion of the vision quest, and that she should, instead, listen to what her spirit needed. During her journey, she met Jamie Sams, creator of The Sacred Path and Medicine Cards, who convinced her that the fasting required in a vision quest was not "the feminine way." With Sam's help, Herbert realized that her spirit yearned for the feminine energy of a healing quest. Herbert offers a fascinating account of the Native American ceremonies and rituals in which she participated before the climax of her transformation - four days and nights alone and apart, seeking wholeness within the sacred space of the medicine wheel." |

Introduction to Cosmobiology-
Our price $2.00 (Originally
$7.00) by Reinhold Ebertin Paperback, 103 pgs, Black and white illustrations and photographs. Copyright 1973, Produced and printed by Ebertin-Verlag |
From
the preface: "The term cosmobiology designates those methods
applied to the study of the relationship between the cosmic rhythms and
life on earth. Experience has taught us the weather, climate, plant
growth, natural catastrophes, and the individuals life as well are
linked with the cosmic phenomena. Astrology, a science thousands of years old, has amassed a body of empirical knowledge, still of high value today, but which is also in need of critical attention. The particular aim of cosmobiological research is to honor the knowledge of the ancient world, but at the same time to survey with a critical eye the rules of traditional astrology and incorporate modern methods, such as statistics, in the investigation of cosmobiological relationships. The present book is intended as an introduction to one of the cosmobiological working methods, according to the author's conception of this science. Following a short history of cosmobiological concepts, the reader is made familiar with various methods of working and interpretation which have proved through their worth through the centuries. The author highly values clear, readable, exact and comparative representations and is therefore an advocate of graphic methods. May this book find friends all over the world." |

Mystique of Healing -
Our price $2.00, (Originally
$5.95) by Bob Bloomfield Paperback, 118 pgs, First American paperback, 1985, Samuel Weiser, Inc. |
From
the back of the book: "The Mystique of Healing is a book
that sets out to demystify the world of healing: What happens during a
healing? Who are the healers? Where does healing power come from? Do
healings and miracles really occur? Full of controversy- as might be
expected from a journalist who is also a healer-the book takes a very
practical down-to-earth look at the whole field of what is a strange yet
natural phenomenon. Bloomfield tells us that the power of healing is an
entirely natural phenomenon, not esoteric in any way, accessible to all.
"There can be, surely, only one true source of healing energy
regardless of what our religious or philosophical approaches may be.
Contents include techniques and methods of healing, dangers and
difficulties involved with healing, the healing organizations, the role
of the church in healing, healing and cancer, and some of the author's
own personal experiences. The author also includes a list of selected
titles on healing, and a selection of organizations and periodicals
associated with healing. The Mystique of Healing is a clear and
concise narrative sure to be of value both to laypeople and professional
health administrators." |

The Path to Wisdom -
Our
price $2.00, (Originally
- $9.95) by Joseph D'Agostino Paperback, 117 pgs., Black and white illustrations. Copyright 1976, 1994, First published in 1994 by Samuel Weiser, Inc. |
From
the back of the book: "This marvelously lucid book makes
accessible the practical use of the tarot in daily living. Using the new
Universal Rider-Waite deck as a basis, D'Agostino delineates the
meditative symbolism that is inherent in each of the 22 cards of the
Major or Greater Arcana. The latter portion of the book deals with the
use of the tarot as a means of divination and includes brief definitions
of the qualities of the 78 cards that comprise the Greater and Lesser
Arcana. He outlines the ancient Celtic method of divination and the
21-card spread, and concludes with a discussion on the Qabalah, The Tree
of Life, and Western civilization's present preoccupation with new
rituals, cults and gurus. D'Agostino's insights into the tarot and its
use as a tool for enlightening daily meditation make this book a
valuable addition to tarot literature." |
