Bumpsteer Gauge

The reference plate, main panel and base panel are made from an aluminum-clad, corrugated plastic material. This material is very rigid, light-weight, durable and flat. However, it is subject to dimpling under high-pressure, point-contact loadings such as that associated with the set screws which lock the dial indicator and pointer assemblies in place. The aluminum 'wings' provide a durable slider surface for the pointer and dial indicator assemblies. The entire construction is assembled using aluminum pop rivets.
