Interior Mounting Boss Removal

As depicted in the pictures below, the interior mounting boss is removed using a milling machine or a die grinder. If using a die grinder, time may be saved by removing only the portion that would extend above the 'Epoxy Ledge Fillers' (see below for details on the Epoxy Ledge Fillers". Ford discontinued use ofthe interior mounting bolts mid production 1997. The bosses (sans bolt hole) remained until removed for 1998 production.
