Epoxy Ledge Filler
The ledge between the manifold ports presents a significant projected face, contributing to turbulence and reversion. The ledge fillers are intended to increase velocity of the air moving to the bottom of the manifold, thus enhancing overall airflow of the intake. Epoxy is used to provide a smoother path for airflow between the manifold inlet and each runner inlet. To facilitate filling the each ledge, the manifold was positioned with its top face at a 55-degree angle. The 55-degree angle was selected as it results in the epoxy filling right to the edge of the ledge, including filling the ledge between the ports and the narrow ridge just below each port. Use of a syringe to apply the epoxy is recommended, particularly along the narrow ridge below each port.
