RPG's have been a hobby of mine since I was 7 years old. In that time I have played many different games, of virtually all genre's. I have several favorites, which I will include insights into the rules, and possibly a few characters you may find interesting. Enjoy!
What are RPG's?

Role Playing Games are games in which the players undertake the roles of individuals in a story. One of the players is the game master (GM), although many games have trademarked their own titles for this individual. He (or She) describes the setting, and plays the roles of all individuals not controlled by the other players. The players then use their characters to interact with the story as it is happening!

Also, you really don't "win" when playing an RPG. Characters set goals for themselves to acomplish, and when that is done, they keep going... an entertaining RPG can last for years of play, because there is no set time to stop.

Characters improve as play progresses, although how this happens varies greatly from system to system. Most games are played until the players feel that they have developed their characters fully, and it is time to move on. These characters are then "retired", and often are brought back at special occasions, or remain present in the game as NPC's under the GM's control.
