About the Armoloy process on your firearm... (TOP)

CORROSION
RESISTANCE:
Armoloy technology is unlike any other conventional chromium coating. Our proprietary process and coating conforms to existing metal surfaces with amazing detail, creating a hard, slippery, and corrosive resistant surface. It resists attack by most organic and inorganic compounds. Though Armoloy only enhances the base material. It will, however, pass the 24 and 96 hour salt spray tests with no problem!
DURABILITY: Chances are, your gun will never come into contact with something that Armoloy will not resist. It will not chip, flake, crack, peel, or seperate from the base material even under the most rugged conditions. Armoloy does not significantly affect the tensil, yield, or fatigue properties of the base material, and the purity of the chromium surface will not be less than 99% as deposited. Our use of a mechanical vapor hone process rather than a chemical cleaning process eliminates the potential problem of hydrogen embrittlement of the steel, thus extending the life of your weapon.
BUILD-UP? Armoloy's thickness with regard to steel remains constant and predictable, and will not reflect a buildup of greater than .0002 inch, about one fourth the thickness of a human hair! It has an equivalent hardness in excess of 70 Rockwell "C" when measured by conventional micro-hardness methods, making it one of the hardest coatings on the market.
VERDICT... Armoloy has proven time and time again to be an optimal coating for firearms and has been praised as "one of the best rust-resistant metal finishes for handguns and shotguns." (Gun Digest)
