February 21, 1998 at 17:19:12 Comments: Joan, I love your page, good designs and information. I am a descendant of Zachariah Melton b. 1720 in Nash Co., NC. I think our lines come in together somewhere. Mine comes down from Zachariah's son John, b 1742, then Joseph, b.1770 and also Cooper, b.1778. They are brothers so the limbs on my family tree intertwine sometimes.

I have been publishing the MILTON/MELTON POT QUARTERLY since 1985 and started an M/M archive with over 230 acquistions. I also have files of hundreds of M/M researchers family histories. I will be glad to check out anyone's ancestor. Contact me at mmelton@mail2.quiknet.com Nancy Pratt Melton.

branch of the Melton family. I would appreciate any direction you could give me
on a fruitful quest. My great-grandfather was Charles Oscar Melton and his wife
was Maddie Robertson. I believe both were born in, or around, Mt. Carmel,
Illinois. My grandfather was Charles Leo Melton and was one of six boys. Thank
you in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

My documented Melton/Milton ancestors are Michael, b.1656-d.1714 Northumberland Co., VA>Richard>Richard>Moses>Richard>Charles d. 1891, buried southwest corner Dallas Co., TX. They came to Ellis Co., TX in 1854 by way of Prince William Co., VA and Nelson Co., KY. Michael's father may have been William, whose father may have been Richard, born 1590 in Leichestershire, England, Died in VA. I am really interested in your earliest VA Meltons!

Wednesday, April 8, 1998 at 16:50:37 Comments: My family is from northern Texas. Wichita Falls area (that I know of). They have spread all over Texas, San Antonio and Lubbock, and one in California. I am not for sure where we originated from before that and my grandmother (maden name Blackwell) is one of the few left. I am not sure she knows where grampa's family is originally from. My family is living in Shawnee, Ok and I know that there are other Meltons here is town. One of them is a dean a one of the local universities. I always wonder if we (Melton's) are all related in one way or another. Anyway, I love you page, keep up the good work. If you need or want any more information, please email me at the above address.
