1850 Grundy Co., TN Census information indicates:
Moses Guest age 83 born in NC (possibly pre-Tenn. area)
Darcus age 78 born in PA
Mary A. (Guest) Messex age 19
James Looney age 14
Moses Guest had the distinction of living in at least three different
Tennessee Counties without moving. The couny lines just kept
forming around him. The home place is very likely located in the
upper north-western corner of present Grundy County. His land
was located along Walnut Creek in the area known as Hubbards Cove.
The following information was found in a Grundy Co.,
Tennessee Book of Wills & Estates.

Will of MOSES GUEST of Coffee Co. dated 17 Mar. 1843.
Moses wife DORCAS to have houses, lands, 3 slaves, equipment, furniture,
livestock, and after her death to be divided between my children, to wit in
order of age: Polly (Mary) Looney , John Guest, William Guest,
Moses Guest, Elizabeth Woods, Lilly Ann Hubbard, Dorcas Messick, Sarah Lusk.
Grandson Moses Perryman, a horse.
Wit: Alfred Braley, John Braley, Columbus Braley
Sale of Moses Guest's personal property by Wm. Guest, Administrator. Buyers
include Wm. Guest. Sale took place 22 Jan. 1855. (This has to be "following"
the death of both, Moses and his wife, Dorcas.)
30 Jan. 1855, Moses Guest's will was "expunged" from the record. Inventory of
estate of Moses Guest by Wm. Guest, Executor, includes doubtful notes on John
M. Guest and Thomas Guest. Slaves divided between heirs according to Moses
will: Mary Loony, John Guest's heirs, Elizabeth Woods, Wm. Guest, Lilly Ann
Hubbards heirs, Sarah Lusk and Moses Guest. Report of slave division dated
5 Jan. 1855
#3 Desha Co., Ark. 21 April 1855
Mary, wife of John Guest, names her relation Andrew Jackson Guest of Desha Co.
her Atty. in acquiring her inheritance as an heir of Moses Guest, decd.

#4 Desha Co., Ark. 21 April 1855
James M. Guest, Wm. Guest, Wade Hampton and wife Adaline (Guest), and Wm.
Summers and wife Martha Jane (Guest) appoint Andrew J. Guest, Atty. to receive
inheritance from the estate of their grandfather, Moses Guest. They are the
children of John M. Guest late of Desha Co., Ark.
Wit: W.D. Neely, J.P.
30 April 1855, same persons as above receive $1000.00 coming to the
heirs of John M. Guest, heir at law of Moses Guest. A.J. Guest signs
receipt on their behalf.
8 Aug. 1855 Desha Co., Ark.
Andrew J. Guest is appointed guardian for Mary & Geo. W. Guest, minors
under 21, to collect and receive all monies due them.
#17 17 Oct. 1856 Benton Co., Ark.
Thomas B. Nail and wife Elizabeth (Hubbard) and James W. Wilson and wife
Rachel (Hubbard), power of attorney to Ayers Newman of this place to recover
their inheritance from the late Moses Guest of Grundy Co., Tenn. Wives are
the grandaughters if Moses Guest.

Guest Simmons, grandchildren. Elizabeth Orr (also written Elizabeth Wood),
(dau). Moses M. Perryman, grandson. MARY LOONY, decd, daughter.
6 Oct 1857 Wm. Gibson, admr, of MARY LOONEY, decd, received cash.
(Mary had died Jan 27, 1857 in Lawrence County, Ala.)
4 Oct. 1859 Wm. Gibson, admr of MARY LOONY received cash from estate of Moses
Guest.
William Guest apparently died about 6 Dec. 1862 as his will names his children
Francina (dau), Joseph (son), Lilly Ann (dau), Oregan (dau), and John A. Guest
(son). His wifes name was Nancy. (Nancy Wagner per her father's probate.)
The turmoil over the distribution of Moses Guest's Estate lasted over an extended
period of time. There is record of law suits and related statements as late as 1873.
These statements give further evidence to the heirs of Moses Guest of Grundy County
Tennessee.

Benjamin Guest, Green Co, 1787, 400acres on Northside of Nolachuckee
Joshua Guest, Hawkins Co, 1788, 200 acres on Northside of Clinch River
Early Newspaper, National Banner & Nashville Wig, reported that Major Joshua
Guest died at Columbia, Feb. 2, 1831.
****Family bible shows Joshua as being born Jan 12, 1789. His wife was Mary
Wilcox Hill, (I am informed that this Bible record is in error as Mary's maiden name
was Cherry.) born in N.C. Dec. 10, 1795, died Feb. 13, 1870. Both are buried
at Greenwood Cemetery, Columbia, Tenn. The Bible was apparently prepared by
James L. Guest, a son, born May 11, 1819, died May 25, 1886. James wife was
Emily Jane Hill, born May 21, 1823, died Apr. 21, 1869. They were married in
Columbia, Tenn. Dec. 18, 1839. They had 11 children who are listed with
spouces. The Bible does not list or show other children for Joshua and Mary.

Joseph Guest Married Ferris McVay Jan. 12, 1797, Grundy Co, Tenn.
Susanna Guest married David DeVault, March 19, 1800 in Grainger Co, Tenn.
Moses and Mary (Guest) Looney had a son, Moses Looney Jr. who married a
Susanna DeVault in Lawrence Co, Ala. 28 Apr, 1841. David Devault, the father
of Susanna DeVault, died in Morgan Co, Ala., Dec., 1822.
Mary "Polly" Guest, daughter of Moses Guest, was married to Moses Looney,
April 21, 1809 in Warren County, Tennessee by: James McDaniel, J.P.
