ca 1832 in Madison Co. Ala. and married Kate Ville, daughter of

Thomas 7 Wilber Looney, et al.Andrew 5 Jackson Looney (John 4 Warren, Absalom 3) was born ca 1834 at Triana, Ala. He came to Goliad, Texas, with his mother Nancy in 1848 and married ca1854 Elvira Best born ca1836. He died 1 Oct. 1916 at Mineral, Bee Co., Texas, where he lived with his daughter, Mrs. B.A. O'Neal.
At the 1860 census he was a trader and the family lived in Goliad County. There were 3 children, R. W. 5, Mary 3, and A.J. 8/12 year. With them lived Peter Surat 20, racher, [rancher wbl] and W. Looney 17, trader; also the boys Tom, Robert W., and Sam Grantland. They were also in Goliad Co. at the 1880 census and Martin was a wagoner. Andrew J. Looney removed to Bee Co., probably before 1880, and farmed for many years near Mineral. He and his wife Elvira (Best) Looney had at least the following children;

They were married ca1857 but may not have maintained a separate household in 1860. At the 1870 census of Goliad, he was a carpenter with wife Sarah born 1838 and children Benton 12, Maggie 10, and Eddie 5. (Stephen Best of Goliad Co. in 1860 (b. 1810) and in 1870 (b. 1806) was probably the father of the wives of A.J. and M.V. Looney.)
