The following procedures outline the installation of the radiator:
| Parts Required | Qty |
| Radiator, Griffin | 1 |
| 1/4 x 3/8 1/16 grommets | 6 |
| 1/4 x 3/8 x 1/8 grommets | 6 |
| 1/4 - 20 x 1" bolts | 6 |
| 1/4" flat washers | 12 |
| 1/2 - 20 nuts | 6 |
| Cooling fan - Scotts 16" FR16B-3.75 | 1 |
Install the largest electric fan that will fit. A 16" fan is shown in the photo. Follow the installation instructions with the fan kit. You'll notice in the photo I fabricated aluminum brackets to hold the fan in place. You may use the tie wraps that come with the radiator, or do something similar to what is shown. You're choice.
There are four radiator brackets included with the race chassis. Line all the brackets with foam insulation tape provided by Lone Star. The two bottom brackets have spacers welded on the bottom that raise them above the chassis cross member about 1". Mount them centered in the cross member and spaced outboard as far as possible using 1/4" bolts, washers and nylock nuts. Do some test fits before determining the final position. When these are mounted, place the radiator in them and place the side brackets on the radiator and test fit it in the chassis for proper fit. Use c-clamps on the side brackets to hold the radiator onto the frame rails. Once you are satisfied with the position mark the location for future reference. Due to close tolerances under the hood, make final placement of the radiator after the body is attached to the frame.
Note: The first picture below shows the close tolerance between the top of the radiator and the hood hinges. The idea is to have the radiator in an as upright postion as possible yet avoiding the hinges. The photo was taken looking up through the nose opening in the body.

There are many combinations of engine and radiator positions, so you will have to determine the size and location of each inlet/outlet and buy radiator hoses to fit. It will be helpful to use a stiff piece of wire (such as a coat hanger) to bend to the shapes needed. Then take these to the auto supply store and find hoses to match. Or, you may want to use Cool-flex, as shown in the pictures.
