T his is our only fundraiser and were really counting on your support to make it an overwhelming success. The prizes offered should make it a piece of cake to get raffle tickets out to family and friends. Lets give everyone a chance at these great prizes. Help us go that extra mile for the Literacy Council. |

A big hand for Louis Williams, ESL Volunteer Co- ordinator at Richarte Learning Center - Georgetown, who received a service award from Georgetown Information & Volunteer Exchange (G.I.V.E.), plus recognition from JC Penneys Golden Rule Award, which honors volunteers across Central Texas. Louis, wife Betty, and all the faithful volunteers who work with an incredible number of students every Tuesday & Thursday evening, we applaud you!Kudos, also, to the following volunteers for recently completing ESL tutoring: Rosemarie Dochery |
GED Commencement Our May 22 GED graduation in Cullen auditorium at Southwestern University (SWU) was a resounding success. Twenty-one students received diplomas. Many thanks to Dr. Marc Nigliazzo, president of Temple College, who gave the commencement address (and handed out diplomas), Ed Komandosky, our board president for serving as master of ceremonies, SWU for providing the graduation site, and Richarte High School staff for helping us get through our first solo graduation with very few bumps. Were very proud of the 21 graduates everyone represented a success story. Congratulations to each of you and best of luck in all your future endeavors! |
