Location
Our location is approximately 35 to 40
miles SE of Austin just off highway 71.
We are located midway between the towns
of Bastrop and Smithville. About 6 miles
east of Bastrop, your first landmark will
be Duke's Country store (a Mobile station)
on the right side of the highway. Approximately
a block and a half past Dukes on your
left, you will see our sign on the corner
of the Hwy 71 and Alum Creek Road. Turn
left on Alum Creek Road, and proceed 1 mile to
the Loma Alta gate on your left.

- Highway 71 is part of the old Camino
Real (Royal Road) from east Texas to
San Antonio. The Colorado River was
forded at Bastrop, and the Camino Real
proceed southwestward.
- The Lost Pines area of Texas is almost
completely in Bastrop County. The pines
(loblolly) that grow in the 100 square
mile area are not found again until
you get to east Texas.
- The area is so beautiful that the
state has deemed it worthy of 2 state
parks, one at Bastrop, and one at Smithville.
Loma Alta is directly between them.
- If at any time you need assistance,
call our Austin metro number (512)360-2005,
and we will be glad to talk to you or
return your call if we are otherwise
occupied.
