The Internet Itself is a Conspiracy

This article probably has to be my most urate so far. In saying that the internet is a conspiracy, I am not only giving in to all the temptations that are not having anything to write about, but I'm also telling everyone to support a conspiracy. I mean, how else are you going to be viewing this page,if not through the internet? You're not. I'm not a writer for a newspaper, or magazine, or anything that gets published daily and printed onto paper. I'm an internet writer, and thus with that I begin my examination into why the internet in itself is a conspiracy.

I begin on the fact that the internet has been around for almost fifteen years. What? That's BS you say? To be perfectly honest, it's not. The Military has had the "internet" (I put it in quotes because it's not the internet that people know by today's standards.) since around 1987. Their purpose for it however was not the same as ours. They used the internet to communicate to each other where they either thought or knew where the enemy was at. They also used it to search out new areas by being able to relay the information that they recieved immediately. So that's a brief history of the so called "beginning" of the internet.

Now, why exactly do I believe that the internet is a conspiracy? Ok let's see, since the time that it was released to the public, there has been an almost ungodly amount of companies trying to get rich off the idea of transporting things (whether they be messages, files, or information) between two,if not more computers. And that's not necessarily talking about all the "million dollar dot coms" that "suddenly" go broke. I'm talking about the companies that are ACTUAL companies. Such as, AOL,Microsoft,Apple, and IBM just to name a few. These companies were all made to use the internet for profit. (AOL being the biggest beneficiary.) But most of the companies except AOL were started before the internet was made public. They all were started in order to sell computers. (Note: Microsoft was and still is in the software biz.) But after the internet was made public, every one of the companies I mentioned managed to make a lot of money off of it. They started to sell their products online(in this case AOL being the exception because of the fact that you need their product to get online), have online tech support (even though they all mainly suck), and managed to cheat the average joe out of his hard earned cash. How did they do that you ask? Well they manged to charge people money for internet access. Something that was granted free to THE PUBLIC by the military. Now, I may be mistaken, but aren't you and I considered the public? So why then must we pay to use a so called "free" service? Because it's all a giant conspiracy by the military and the million dollar- conglumerate companies to make billions and billions of dollars. Remember when you used to see the ads for netzero on TV? You know, the ones offering "Free Access to the Internet Forever. Netzero, Defenders of the Free World". You want to know why you don't see those ads that much anymore? Because they've sold out. They've joined the conspiracy. They still have free internet access, but in order to remove that annoying ad banner you must, "Upgrade to Netzero PLATINUM for only $9.95 a month!" What happened to defending the free world? It's as if they just one day decided that they didn't like defending the the free world. I think their motto should be, "Netzero, we sold the free world to a conglumerate company, and made a huge profit. So pay for 'our' service and feel free to give them millions of dollars." That would make more sense. I wouldn't have as much trouble respecting a company that at least has the balls to tell you that you are being cheated out of your money. But yet they have to live the conspiracy and continue to lie to people. That's when my respect level for that company goes to zero. (No pun intended.)

We all have been part of a conspiracy. You, me, your momma, all of us. We were all suckered or are going to be suckered into either paying for internet access, or paying for some sort of service on the computer. Whether it be the Napster pay-service thing (Have they started that yet?) or what have you. Me personally, I have never paid for internet access in my life. Right now I use "Bluelight". (If you don't alreay know what i mean by the quotes, email me and i'll be glad to explain.) I did have SegaNet for a while. But that was for the 500 free hours only. And since SegaNet does go a lot faser and has more reliable connections, I did at one time think about paying for it. But then it came to me. Screw paying for something that you can get for free. I mean, sure "Bluelight" takes forever to get connected, and it does disconnect you a lot, but hey atleast i can say that i am able to get online without paying. Like, if someone offered to give you access to their stuff for free, or offered to make you to pay to even glance at their stuff, you'd be a retard if you chose to pay. Now, before i start getting zillions of emails, I'm using that as a metaphor. I mean nothing against you personally if you pay for internet service. If you pay for internet service, all that means is that you are a bigger part of the conspiracy than I am.
