Seals, Shows, and the Evaluation of Traps

This new classroom course addresses the most essential element in any exploration program- how to evaluate the quality and size of traps using capillary pressure data and shows.  We know a lot about reservoir systems and the hydrocarbons that move through them.  Somehow, we just assume that the seals will be adequate.   Not always true!  There is quite a bit of "on the shelf" technology to aid in trap determination- the challenge is to properly apply it to the problem at hand.  An important ingredient is the proper identification and use of Type I shows.   Subsurface exercises will be used to show how one combines capillary pressure data and show data into a powerful exploration tool for generating prospects.
