Biographical Information
I have been working in the tile business since
1973...I started with the Mincher Floor Co. of Detroit,
Michigan. It was a great
experience, since almost all of our jobs were out of town. Good money and lots
of travel. We had a contract to tile all the Frito-Lay
plants in the US,
Canada,
and Puerto Rico. Lots of free snacks! We
also worked at many meat and dairy plants in the US.
We did brick floors, tile, and seamless epoxy floors. One of my favorite jobs
was the remodeling of the Ford
Motor Co. Experimental Lab and Test Track. Another would have to be the Arlington,
Texas Frito Lay Bean Dip
Plant. This is where I met my wife. After living in the Detroit
area for a while, we moved to Sacramento,
California. There I went to
work for McDermott Tile and worked on the Golden Nugget Casino in Sparks,
Nevada. While working there I
met John Ascagua, owner of the casino. We also tiled the kitchen floor at his
personal house. Several years later I took my homesick wife back to visit her
family in Texas,
and decided to settle here in Arlington.
Been here ever since ya'll! Here's some other jobs
I've worked...
