"Mary Tafoya was raised in Louisville,
Kentucky, and now resides with her family in Albuquerque, New Mexico,
where she received her B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of New
Mexico. Mary has worked as a graphic artist, community college educator,
technology trainer and instructional designer for over 20 years.
Mary's beadwork focues on advanced bead embroidery techniques,
and she works in various other media as well to create memorable pieces
about women, spirituality and mythology.
She is a frequent contributor to Beadwork and
other fine craft magazines. She teaches occasionally in Albuquerque
and other regional and national venues (click
here to find out about classes). Mary launched her online educational
resource for beadworkers, Aunt
Molly's Bead Street, in April 1997."
