Web Art for Beadworkers:
The CYBER BEADER AWARDS!

Wow! Flashing Beads!

These awards were created to honor those beadworkers who spend part of their creative time online, sharing their knowledge, skills and laughter with other bead artists. The online beading community is amazing and diverse, a loose affiliation of mailing lists, bulletin boards, newsgroups and websites, where beginners "sit" side by side with professionals, hobbyists, writers, vendors, and software developers; and where anyone, at any level, who needs help, can find it in a jiffy.

If you see an award that you deserve -- please take it! You've earned it! If you have a friend who could use a thank you -- send it to them!

Beadaholics Anonymous Card
Inspired by the members of the BeadTalk mailing list

Beadaholics Unanimous Membership Card

You might be a beadaholic if:

  • You work so you can buy beads.
  • You sneak beads into the house.
  • You have a separate container for "orange." (No, purple does not count.)
  • You obsess about the one issue of Bead & Button you don't have.
  • The dustballs under the furniture remind you of really fluffy beads.
  • You bead in the car at stoplights. And you're thinking about beading the car.
  • Your kid's first words were "Pretty beads, mama!" (That was my clue...)

Don't despair, there is help available! Place this card on your website, and someone, sometime, will contact you. Trust me, you are not alone. ;-)

Cyber Beader Unity Award
inspired by Sarah Frazier, aka "Beadnik"

Cyber Beader Unity Award

You qualify for this seal if you have accomplished any of the following:

  • You've published another bead artist's work on your site.
  • You've made an international beader friend on the WWW.
  • You've participated in a bead or beadwork swap.
  • You haven't flamed anybody lately; at least, no one who didn't deserve it! ;-)
  • You've helped another beader set up their own web page.
  • You've shared your knowledge with a beader you didn't know.
Bead Design Resource Award of Merit
inspired by Kate Larking, aka "Beadi"
Bead Design Resource Award of Merit

Do you:

  • Share a beadwork pattern on your website?
  • Post projects or tutorials for beadworkers?

Take this award as a thank-you from all of us.

Aunt Molly's Honk Award
If you're not listed it's only because I haven't found you yet. Don't be shy --
tell me!

Aunt Molly's Honk Award

You're eligible for the prestigious (yeah, right...) Honk! Award if:

  • Your site is linked on AM's Bead Street (meaning you have a free pattern, tutorial, or other information on your site that's helpful to beadworkers), or
  • You provide a link on your site to AM's Bead Street, or
  • You intend to link to AM's Bead Street as soon as you get the hang of that pesky little HREF tag, or
  • You knew Aunt Molly in a previous life, or
  • You like trucks.

The Beader's Rippit Award of Merit
In Honor of Suzanne Cooper,
Recipient, Lifetime Rippit Achievement Award ;-)
(whose graphic I swiped and modified)

The Beader's Rippit Award

You qualify for this award if you survived the project from hell. You know, the one where all your beginner's luck ran out, and so did your patience? Where your mistakes were so obvious you couldn't call them improvisation? Where you had more "spirit beads" <hehe> than regular beads? If you've ripped out more rows than you'd care to admit, take this award -- you deserve it, honey!

Beading on the Right Side of the Heart AwardBeading on the Right Side of the Heart Award

This award was inspired by Ginger Rakes-Fisher's amulet bag for her birth mother. There are many beaders who make special beadwork for special people. This is your award.
