"REEL FX" began as "PRO FX", a supplement to our motion picture income in 1996.
"PRO FX" consisted of a line of latex appliances such as noses, horns, scars and wounds and ears that we would manufacture and market from our FX studio to costume shops all over the country. Between 1996 and 2000, our "line" grew in popularity and scope to include over 100 items. In May of 2000 a deal was reached between Rubies Costume Company (the world's largest Halloween, costume and party product manufacturer/ wholesaler) and Facades FX. The deal was for Rubies to absorb our line into their company, where it was renamed "REEL FX". Design and prototype work remains with Facades FX, while manufacture and sales are handled by Rubies globally.
What began as a simple side line for a struggling FX lab in the dwindling Texas film industry has now become the number one product of its kind globally. Facades FX became the most prolific Halloween Prosthetic designers in the world wide industry, and our designs have influenced every other manufacturer on the market, since our debut in 1996.
Reel FX revolutionized the large character prosthetic kit in the Halloween Industry. Our line offers over 25 complete character prosthetic kits, all designed by The Fiendish Dr. Phil.
