Chapter Nine: Soul Lover

After a long day at the beach, Drelica and Torrid made it back to their bungalow.  “Shower up Dre, we’re going to dinner.” Torrid said as she emptied out the water from the cooler.

“Oh babe, can’t we just order in tonight?” Drelica said, as she shucked her wet bathing suit and hung it in the railing.

Torrid froze, unaware that she was spilling icy water all over herself as she watched Drelica strip naked right in front of her. Wow. She’s so fucking hot.

Torrid grinned wickedly, “Tired of eating out?”

“Never.” Drelica said seductively, “I’m starved.”

Torrid felt her clit throb as she watched her beautiful woman walk seductively into the bungalow. She looked down at the cooler in her hands and tossed it aside, then hurried inside to follow Drelica.  Tonight there would be no more interruptions, no more drama, and a lot of hot naked sex!

Torrid rushed into the bungalow following her wet, naked lover into the shower.  The cool water of the shower fell like a gentle rain on the pair as they washed the sand and salt from their sun kissed skin and refreshed them with hydration.  “Mmmmmmmmmmmm…” Drelica purred. “It feels good to have my skin wet.”

“My skin isn’t the only thing that’s wet,” Torrid said, wiggling her eyebrows.

“Oh really? Do tell.”

“I think my volcano is about to erupt…” Torrid said giving a sexy growl. “All this tropical heat…it’s making me into …a wild beast.”

“Oooooh baby..” Drelica said, in a voice that was part angel, part vixen. “I love it when your beast gets loose!”

“Do you, now?” Torrid asked.

Drelica reached up and wrapped her fingers around the Tiki necklace Torrid had worn that day. She pulled Torrid down to her, meeting her lips and placing her mouth over Torrid’s.  Drelica kissed Torrid slowly, passionately, dancing inside Torrid’s mouth with her serpentine tongue. Torrid moved into the kiss, stepping closer, placing her hands on Drelica’s shoulders, stroking her skin gently as they kissed under the cool cascade of the shower. The kiss deepened, and they hugged each other closer, hands beginning to move over flesh in a more eager motion.

When the kiss finally broke and their lips parted, they stood there looking at each other with hooded eyes. Torrid smiled.

“Let’s get into bed…” her voice trailed off as she turned the shower off and handed Dre a towel.

“I agree. It’s been a long week, and I want to spend the evening here with you….fucking.”

Torrid, drying her hair with the towel froze at Drelica’s words. She smiled a wicked smile. It always amused her when Drelica used the “F” word. Drelica had such an outward innocence, and it gave Torrid a thrill to corrupt that innocence.  To amuse herself further, she pretended she didn’t hear what was said.

”What’s that Dre? I got water in my ear.”

Drelica knew better, Torrid hadn’t gone swimming, and the shower was gentle. But she decided to play along, and she shed her angelic exterior, and slinked toward her woman seductively. She took Torrid’s towel and tossed it on the floor.

“I said….I want to stay here with you….” Drelica leaned in to kiss Torrid’s neck. “And fuck.”

“Baby!” Torrid said, mimicking Drelica’s innocent voice.

Torrid swept Drelica up in her arms and carried her to the bed….

Torrid lay Drelica down on the soft bedding and then leaned over to the night stand to grab some coconut scented massage lotion.

“Rub your shoulders, babe?” She asked as she warmed the lotion between her palms.

“Oh yes, please!” Drelica said excitedly.

Torrid began to massage Drelica’s shoulders and back, straddling her hips and pressing her upper body weight into the gentle kneading. Drelica purred as Torrid’s hands moved the warm, sweet lotion all over her skin.

”This is paradise.”

“Now don’t go to sleep on me, Dre.”

“I’ll try not to,” Dre said, stifling a yawn, “but you’re making me so relaxed.”

“Well then, I’ll just have to do something to revive you, won’t I?” Torrid said wickedly.

Suddenly Drelica felt an ice cold sensation between her legs, and she started on the bed.

“Gods! Baby—what the hell?”

Torrid laughed. She had stuck her hand in the ice bucket and then slid it between Drelica’s thighs.

“I couldn’t have to pass out on me Dre…it’s the first quiet evening we’ve had without fucking stalkers and drama since we got here.”

“Is that so? I think you exaggerate. But in any case, it’s only fair that I return the favour…”

Drelica suddenly rolled over, flipping Torrid off her back; then she climbed up on Torrid getting her down into a schoolboy pin, holding Torrid’s hands above her head.  “I have you now!” She said proudly.

Torrid, though surprised, was very turned on my Dre’s sudden show of dominance. Torrid found it was really hot being pinned down by a sexy little scientist.  She looked into Dre’s green pools and felt herself begin to drown.

“I surrender,” Torrid said without realizing it was aloud.

Drelica heard it and smiled.  She leaned down and kissed her dark warrior gently on the lips.  She hovered over her placing soft warm kisses over Torrid’s face, neck and throat.

Torrid melted into submission.

Drelica moved down, placing kisses on Torrid’s collarbone, her chest, and finally arriving at her breasts, causing Torrid to take in a rush of deep breath.  Torrid was struggling to let herself go, to not be the one in control and to trust Drelica, with everything, not just sex, but everything that mattered.

This was the tipping point for Torrid. Her future with Drelica, her future life would depend on this one moment of complete submission and trust.

Sensing Torrid’s struggle, Drelica kissed her lover’s neck moving up to place sweet soft kisses on her cheek, and then she placed her lips to Torrid’s ear and whispered. “I love you.

I always have, from the moment we met; I just didn’t know it yet. But now I do know.”

With those sweet words Torrid relaxed and sobbed, and reached up to pull Drelica close to her. Torrid held onto her and sobbed into her chest, like a little girl. She was letting go, and pouring everything out that she had held back for years. Drelica held her close, petting her and placing light kisses on her head.

“I’m here baby.” She would say over and over.
Torrid raised her head to look up at Drelica, her eyes filled with tears. “Am I home? Is this really home?” She said, barely audible, barely above a whisper.

”Oh yes, baby, you’re home! I’m your home!” Drelica said hugging Torrid tightly.

Three hours later Torrid dozed in the intoxicating warmth of Drelica’s body. She lay spent and content on the bed in their bungalow. The emotional release had exhausted her, but now she slept peacefully, haunted no more.  It was night and the perfumed island breeze passed through the room smelling of plumeria and paradise.  Torrid drifted in and out of deep sleep, aware of Dre’s presence, but still a captive of the afterglow of their emotional bonding.

Drelica lay awake, but happy. She held her lover as she slept, stroking Torrid’s cheek as she gave gentle kisses on her forehead.  She loved watching Torrid sleep; listening to the rise and fall of her breathing, holding her close and feeling her warmth.  Drelica was happy with the changes she had seen in Torrid since they met. She saw the light that was hidden behind Torrid’s tough exterior, she knew there was a soul capable of gentleness and love within the painted Amazon, and she knew instinctively it was her task to connect with that soul. She had made that vital connection.

As she lay there holding Torrid her mind rewound the events of the past six months. Of her first meeting with Torrid, and the turmoil her life had been in, and how the universe seemed hell bent on thrusting the two of them in each other’s path time and time again.

Well if that’s not a sign, I don’t know what is!

She thought to herself and smiled softly, knowing that all of this was meant to be. Some how, it was all just…right.  Drelica nestled back into Torrid’s arms and wrapped herself around her sleeping Amazon like a koala.  She knew what happiness was, and she wanted that happiness with Torrid; and she Knew that Torrid wanted that happiness with her in return. At least she hoped as much.  Drelica knew her bond with Torrid was deep, from the first time they met, but she never suspected that she could ever feel so much for one person, as she felt for Torrid. She too, had come home.

The Next morning, Torrid and Drelica got up and had breakfast at a nearby diner. Torrid found it was nice to enjoy her morning coffee with an ocean view. Drelica thought that Torrid seemed more relaxed than she had ever known her to be, and she was pleased. She wanted their last hours on the island to be relaxing and peaceful.  All in all she had enjoyed her vacation, after all it had served its purpose. It helped her to process, to heal and to get closer to her love. She sipped her tea thoughtfully, and took in the view with a content sigh.

Torrid looked up from her tattooing book and smiled softly at her.

“Feeling good, Dre?”

“Feeling very good, Tor.” Drelica smiled back. “What’s that you’re reading?”

“Well, today’s the last chance I’ll have to visit the ink masters and get my tattoo. So I was reading up a little on it. This is interesting: ‘The primitive method of tattooing on the body is fascinating. In fact, the mythology behind the art regarded this having been taught by the sons of the God of creation and as a result the process of tattooing itself formed an elaborate ritual that had to be shown a degree of reverence’.

“Wow, that’s really fascinating. You’re getting another tattoo? Where on earth will you put it?” Drelica teased.

Torrid started. “Oh crap…you’re right….I’m running out of skin.”

Drelica chuckled to herself as Torrid’s expressions changed to various and sundry comical faces as she worked out the problem of where to put her Polynesian ink.

“Babe, it looks like the only places you have left are the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands….on the outside, anyway.” Drelica teased.

“Or my face?” Torrid said, raising an eyebrow.

“Don’t you dare cover that beautiful face with ink, Torrid Duncan!” Drelica ordered.

Torrid chuckled, “Don’t worry babe, I wouldn’t do that.”

After breakfast, Torrid and Drelica loaded up for one last excursion on the Island. Their destination was a small out of the way bungalow where a renowned tattoo master lived and worked. His method was the old school Polynesian method of tattooing, which is time honored, and very painful. Torrid smiled at the thought of it. She needed to feel some deep ache in her skin. An ink addiction was a life long burden. She rather liked the Hawaiian mindset of tattooing, and the notion that the more ink you had, the more status you carried within your tribe.

I guess by those standards, I’d be the Queen of Sheba. Torrid mused to herself.  When they spotted the isolated shack, they parked the jeep and walked to the door.

Torrid knocked on the post, as the door was merely a bamboo curtain. “Master Moko?” Torrid said as she entered the front room of the bungalow.

“That’s me.” Said the middle-aged man who was built like a brick shit house and himself covered with as much ink or more than Torrid. His face was covered with geometric lines and shapes in the fashion of the Maori of New Zealand. This particular type of tattoo was called Moko, and now Torrid understood that his name was a professional handle. Torrid bowed respectfully in Japanese fashion, hoping her greeting wouldn’t be out of place.
”Ah, you noticed my Gi hanging there, eh?” Master Moko said.

“I did. I am a black belt in Kimugori. But I am here to learn of your other art, Master Moko. I am an ink pusher back in the states. Karate and Ink are my two greatest passions in life.”

“Be still my heart, a kindred spirit!” Master Moko said, smiling. “Come in, let’s have some tea and we’ll talk of tigers and dragons.”

Torrid entered the bungalow while Drelica occupied herself outdoors enjoying the beautiful view and taking in a walk on the black sand beach.  She didn’t wish to intrude on Torrid’s visit with the master, and though she supported Torrid in expressing herself and exploring her passions, it really wasn’t her thing. She was content to play on the beach.

She collected many beautiful shells and some smoothed sea glass which she would take back home as souvenirs. She loved the feeling of the black volcanic sand between her toes and the spray of the breaking waves on her skin as she walked along the water’s edge.  A half-mile down the beach she noticed a small lagoon where the waters came to an inlet and she could sit and enjoy the scent of tropical flowers as she sun bathed and relaxed.  She took a towel out of her beach bag and spread it out on a flat rock so she could lie back and daydream.

As Drelica napped and bathed in the tropical sun, Torrid enjoyed her tea with the master tattooist, and they spoke freely and at length of their passion for both martial arts and the tattoo.

“I laugh when people tell me the Japanese invented tattooing.” Torrid said.

“Everyone’s an armchair expert. They think the Japanese invented everything—including Karate.”

“Would it hurt them to crack open a book now and again?” Torrid said, sipping her tea from the earthen cup.

“The Japanese do know tea, though. I love making and drinking tea in the Japanese way.”

“It’s the ritualistic habits of the Japanese I admire. They ethic that what is worth doing is worth doing well.”

“To the Japanese.” Master Moko said. “My mother, Gods rest her soul, was Japanese.”

Torrid drank to the toast.

“Perhaps you should wait, Torrid, before you get ink from me. What I do is not done lightly. I do my art with great purpose and meaning. As I am sure you do as well…”

Torrid smiled sheepishly, thinking on how many times she had taken money from drunks and pushed the word ‘mother’ into their flesh.

“I will give you what you want, but only when you are ready.” Master Moko said in a tone that indicated that he was finished discussing the matter.  “Now, let us talk of Karate.”

Back on the beach Drelica was stirred awake from her nap by a splash of water hitting her in the face. “What the fuck?” She sat up suddenly wiping salt water from her eyes.  She looked all around her and then her gaze caught movement in the water—where there were three or four dolphins at play.  Her eyes widened with happy fascination and her smile widened as she watched them frolicking in the water, just mere yards from where she sat.

“Oh man this is too good to pass up!” She said, as she stood and shucked her shorts, stripping down to her bikini.  Drelica dove into the water, which startled the dolphins at first, and they swam away, but circled back as their curiosity was peaked as well. Soon they were all swimming together, and the dolphins were circling closer and closer to Drelica with each pass.

This was the most exciting moment of Drelica’s life, as she loved dolphins and had since she was a child, when she found out they were one of her totem animal guides. Now she was sharing the sea with these wise and magical beings, the joy was almost overwhelming. She wished Torrid could see her, wished someone could take a photo of her, but regardless, she was going to take away the memory of a lifetime.

Torrid bowed to Master Moko as she stepped out onto the porch to talk to Drelica. Torrid frowned when she saw Drelica was no longer there.  Torrid looked at her watch, “Wow. Was I in there an hour and a half? Maybe she went for a walk.”

Torrid stepped back inside. “Master Moko, it seems my girlfriend has abandoned me to go play on the beach. I’d better go find her.” Torrid said.

“No problem, Torrid. Here’s my card. Stay in touch. I enjoyed the visit. Aloha.”

“Domo…and Aloha.” Torrid winked, taking the card.

Stepping down off Moko’ s porch, Torrid followed the footprints that Drelica’s flip-flops left on the sandy path that led down to the pacific dunes. She could hardly blame her lover for being drawn in by the beautiful vista. Torrid decided to follow Drelica’s trail and join her for one last excursion.

Spying the inlet lagoon, Torrid smiled with awe at the sight that unfolded before her. There was Drelica swimming in the lagoon with live Dolphins.

“Oh my Goddess…. I could live three thousand years and never see such a sight again.” Torrid said aloud.

Just then, Torrid remembered her digital camera in the pocket of her cargo shorts. She had brought it along to take photos of the tattoo process, but she wound up not getting the tattoo at all. However, she would have some very magical photos from this vacation, especially the ones she was about to take.

Thinking that candid shots make better pictures, Torrid chose not to make her presence known, but to admire this scene from afar. She watched happily as her lover played with the sea creatures, as though they were all old friends.

“Maybe they are,” Torrid mused.

Drelica splashed and played and raced with the Dolphins, even hitching a ride by hanging on to the dorsal of the larger female. She couldn’t believe this incredible experience, but she was going to enjoy every second of it.  She was disappointed when the school decided to end the games abruptly and they sped off to the deeper waters. Drelica swam back to the lagoon’s edge, and emerged from the water to see Torrid standing there smiling.

“Hey baby—wow!” Torrid said.

“I know!” Drelica beamed.

“I got pictures.” Torrid said, proudly displaying her camera.

“I love you so much!” Drelica said. “I was afraid no one would believe me if I told them.”

“It’s certainly out of the ordinary. You seemed to have a connection with them. It’s all very spiritual and shit. Gotta love that.”

Drelica smiled. “Yeah.  Hey, wanna go for a swim?”

“Sure! I haven’t had much water time, and this is our last day.” Torrid said, as she took off her shorts and shirt and stripped down to her bathing suit.

“Last one in is a rotten egg!” Drelica said as she dove into the lagoon.

“You are so gonna pay for that!” Torrid said as she too splashed into the cool pacific water.

Splashing and playing, diving and racing, Torrid and Drelica swam in the enchanted lagoon for over two hours. Time seemed to stand still, and it was as if they had been together bathing in the lagoon since the beginning of time.  Torrid leaned back against the rocks letting her legs float weightlessly in the water. Drelica swam up like an otter and joined her, wrapping herself around Torrid and kissing her cheek.

“I am in heaven!” She said with a gleeful giggle.

“Me too. I don’t want to go home.” Torrid said with a frown.

“Me either.” Drelica agreed. “But we have to go back.”

“I know. It sucks ass, but I know.”

“It won’t be so bad, Tor. Things are different now.”

“Different?”

“Yeah, I mean, what with us moving in together and getting married and all—“

“Married?” Torrid exclaimed. “You wanna get married?”

“Oh baby, I thought you’d never ask!” Drelica said, hugging Torrid close and kissing her face.

“I guess…. I just did.” Torrid said, confused, surprised, but very happy.
