"Six turning and four burning!"
This site is dedicated to the mightiest of American
aircraft:
The Convair B-36 Bomber.
The Convair B-36 was the largest American bomber ever
built.
It never fired a shot or dropped a bomb in anger - thus
earning
the nickname "The Peacemaker".
The pictures on this site
were taken about ten years ago of
a B-36J, which at the time was sitting in the Southwest
Aerospace Museum. This particular B-36J was the last
of 385 built at the Convair plant and was retired from
the Air Force on February 12, 1959. It is currently
being refurbished to be included in the Aviation
Heritage Museum, north of Ft. Worth Texas.
The links page will direct
you to other sites that will
help you learn more about this amazing bomber.
The stats page shows a drawing of a B-36J and lists
some performance data.
