Mar 12: Gay Culbertson paddled about 6 miles of the San Antonio River below San Antonio.It was a peaceful run on a small, tree infested creek. The water is nice, but the scenery makes the trip. No one around-nothing but nature.
Mar 24: Same crew along with Gay Culbertson played for 4 hours on the San Marcos river while it is up. We spent a lot of time in one rapids with 18-24? waves practicing our strokes and maneuvers. We also spent time throwing ropes and playing in the eddies at another rapid.
Mar 25: Same crew as above ran Barton Creek. The water was a little low but allowed us to practice boat maneuvering, paddle stokes and balancing on rocks. We didn?t have to walk any and only scraped bottom a few rapids. The Creek is a beautiful run with high chalk bluffs, lots of trees and houses up on the cliffs.
Mar 31: Kipp ,Kathy, David &,Connie paddled Barton Creek and reported a great trip. The water was higher than last time we did it so was a little morefun.
Apr 1:Kipp, Kathy, Gay and Arwyn paddled the Lower Guad at around 700cfs. The first few rapids were awesome with some great hydraulics and big holes. Gruene Rapid was probably the best with 3? waves and one close to 4? in a nice long wave train. We ran it 4 times and had a blast.
