Passage from Gillian Freeman's   Undergrowth of Literature

Together they foreed me to place my arms at my
sides. They strapped them there with wide heavy
rubber straps at my elbows and wrists, so tightly
that I could not move them at all. Next my legs
were strapped tightly together at the ankles, knees
and thighs, again with wide rubber straps. They
now turned their attention to my head. A bladder
was placed in my mouth and inflated through a
tiny valve. The inflator was then removed. My
jaws were forced together by Selena, so that my
mouth closed over the bladder. Judith sealed my
mouth shut with surgical tape and then forced
large rubber plugs into my nostrils. Through them
protruded tiny tubes which were the only provi-
sions made for me to breathe, and I was only able
to breathe with great difficulty. ' Next, Judith
placed rubber plugs in my ears; now I could neither
speak nor hear. The only thing I could do was see.
This did not last long! Selena placed very soft latex
covered pads over each eye and bound them in posi-
tion with a wide soft latex strap. A soft latex suit
was zipped over my helpless body and head. The
tiny tubes from my nostril plugs passed through
the face of my hood, so that I was still able to
breathe. The suit, of course, had no sleeves and
only a single leg, but it encased me very tightly,
having lace-up points all over it. After they had
finished lacing the suit even more tightly around
me, I felt myself being lifted, and yet another
suitña loose oneñwas placed over the other.
Again the tubes that allowed me to breathe were
passed through it so that I was still able to breathe.
I suddenly felt this last suit being inflated, and
gradually the pressure increased until I began to
feel a tremendous all-over pressure clamping the
inner suit over my body. Then I felt myself lifted,
higher this time, and then I was dropped. I bounced
very lightly and then came to rest.
