Los Colores de Coahuila

The Mexican frontier state of Coahuila lies along the southern border of Texas.
It is a striking region, full of vivid colour and visual sophistication, which
speaks to the eye with an irrepressible joy of life.
This
series was begun quite subconsciously in May, 2000. Reviewing
my
contact sheets, I was stunned by the vibrant colour and the craftmanship
of
the anonymous artisans -- painters, designers and signmakers -- in the
region.
I have since returned to the region numerous times.
