Concrete Cathedrals
Cement Grain Elevators of Texas
-
'Concrete Cathedrals' was begun in November 1999.  This series documents the numerous
grain elevators which dot the landscape of Texas, particularly along the Gulf of Mexico and the
Panhandle of West Texas.  The grandeur and drama of these deceptively prosaic edifices is captured by
Mr. Jones on his Hasselblad 500C, without the aid of filters or darkroom 'tricks.'
These photographs are dedicated to the spirit and ingenuity of American labour and industry.
