This site contains a gallery of my own hand dyed clothing (not for sale), dyeing instructions, additonal tips, information on sources for materials, book reviews, and links to many other galleries and resources on dyeing.
The techniques I've employed include drip-dyeing from squirt bottles, tie-dyeing, sprinkle-dyeing (using dry dyes, mixed with salt, on soda-soaked fabric), batik, and faux batik (the latter uses only one layer of wax, but many colors of dye). I've also used fabric paints on top of previously dyed materials, by brush, pen, sponge, or stamp. My favorite base is simply a high-quality, heavy-weight cotton t-shirt.
