Texas Lions Have
a History of Helping People
May 31st, 1997 - Lions State Convention, Austin, Texas - Multiple District 2 - The Texas Lions Foundation has authorized a disaster relief grant in the amount of $10,000 (in the form of food vouchers) for the citizens of Jarrell, Cedar Park, Bee Cave and several other smaller communities located in Central Texas as the result of the tornadoes that have recently devastated those communities. When Lions District Governor Fred Novak (District 2-S3) informed LCIF of the action taken by the Texas Lions Foundation LCIF (Lions Clubs International Foundation) immediately authorized a grant for $10,000. In addition to the $10,000 grant LCIF is making matching grant forms available to those wishing to donate funds for this relief project. These activities will be administered by Lions Clubs International.
