Development and porting of a monolithic application for seismic data acquisition. Legacy application was in Visual C++ using MFC and Stingray Studio. Most of my work involved enhancing or creating new C#. components using Syncfusion and integrating them into the main application using managed C++. Later the team began porting the entire application to C# .NET. Duties also required use of SQL Server, XML, and WinCVS.

Contractor
Developed a module in Visual C++/COM/ATL to interface via TCP/IP between the user interface (VB) and business logic for a car wash code-entry unit and a specialized Wal-Mart server. Created a utility in C# .NET to simulate the Wal-Mart server for testing.
Siemens Corporate Research Princeton, NJ, October 2003 - May 2004
Extracted graphical editing functionality from a monolithic Visual C++/MFC application into a set of ActiveX controls for use in a C# Windows Forms application. The task required understanding a large amount of code, much of which was in German, and restructuring portions to work outside of the original application. Used VC++, MFC, VB, ActiveX, C#, .NET, WinForms, ClearCase, XML.

Developed Web Services in Visual C++ for use in a C# Windows Forms client/server SOAP application for automating the remediation of Windows and UNIX vulnerabilities. Exxon 1989-1994
As an intern for six years, performed true programming. Wrote various auditing and reporting utilities. Ported a seismic picking program to an IMB mainframe and later a full-wave-form plotting program to SunOS. My most significant contribution was a geographical database application for the Macintosh to allow the imaging group to access a database of satellite images by location. This application was used for years after I had left. Also wrote security scripts and C programs for Unix. Used Macintosh, Windows, Unix, C-Shell scripting, FORTRAN, SunOS, Pascal, C, C++, Visual C++, Excel, Word, Access.
