Input-Output, Inc. Stafford, TX, February 2006—June 2006

Development and porting of a monolithic application for seismic data acquisition. Legacy application was in Visual C++ using MFC and Stingray Studio. Most of my work involved enhancing or creating new C#. components using Syncfusion and integrating them into the main application using managed C++. Later the team began porting the entire application to C# .NET. Duties also required use of SQL Server, XML, and WinCVS.

Unitec Electronics Elkridge, MD, October 2004—November 2005

Developed a module in Visual C++/COM/ATL to interface via TCP/IP between the user interface (VB) and business logic for a car wash code-entry unit and a specialized Wal-Mart server. Created a utility in C# .NET to simulate the Wal-Mart server for testing.

Siemens Corporate Research Princeton, NJ, October 2003 - May 2004

Extracted graphical editing functionality from a monolithic Visual C++/MFC application into a set of ActiveX controls for use in a C# Windows Forms application. The task required understanding a large amount of code, much of which was in German, and restructuring portions to work outside of the original application. Used VC++, MFC, VB, ActiveX, C#, .NET, WinForms, ClearCase, XML.

Citadel Security Dallas, December 2002 - April 2003

Developed Web Services in Visual C++ for use in a C# Windows Forms client/server SOAP application for automating the remediation of Windows and UNIX vulnerabilities. Used VC++, VB, SQL Server, Access, XML, ADO, STL, SOAP, XML, .NET, C#, WinForms, ADO.NET, VB.NET, IIS, ATL Server Web Services, InstallShield.

AIG Houston, September - October 2002

Implemented a Visual SourceSafe installation, trained and mentored the development team on how to use SourceSafe, including how it integrates with Visual C++. Created a SourceSafe training manual.

Citadel Security Dallas, July 2001 - July 2002

Developed a client/server application for automating the remediation of Windows vulnerabilities. Involved in all aspects of development, including analysis, design, and implementation. Used were Visual C++, MFC, Objective Toolkit, SQL Server, Access, ADO, Windows sockets (TCP/IP), XML.

Developed COM+ components in Visual C++ and ATL for a Windows DNA client/server web application for financial planning. Also wrote ASP code for several of the web pages. Used VC++, ATL, XML DOM, SQL Server, ADO, ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML.

Developed testing code and some server-side functionality for a team management and defect tracking application intended to replace Visual SourceSafe. Used Visual C++, COM, OLE DB, SQL Server, network programming, multithreaded programming.

Developed a set of design-time controls for Visual Interdev. Used Visual C++, ActiveX, HTML, Windows GDI.

Deputy Software Dallas, September - October 99

Provided Windows programming expertise and some development to a team of three developers during the debugging phase of an application to provide parental control over computer games.

InfoEdge Technology Austin, June - August 99

Developed an ActiveX control for viewing and annotating TIFF and JPEG images containing scanned legal documents. The control wrapped functionality contained in a third-party DLL accessed via a C API. Used Visual Basic, Visual C++, ActiveX.

Citadel Technology Dallas, January - June 99

Architected a new version of a desktop security product and also did design, implementation, and led a team of four developers. Used Visual C++, MFC, COM, DLLs, XML, device drivers.

CLR/Fast-Tax Dallas, September - December 1998

Performened maintenance development on tax automation software. Used Visual C++, ActiveX, COM, DCOM, SQL Server.

Citadel Technology Dallas, October 1997 - September 1998

Rewrote a desktop security product in Visual C++. Original version was in Visual Basic.

Mik & Associates Dallas, January 1998 - April 1998

Developed a DLL that implemented a feature to "zoom" a database table. Performance maintenance on a database editor. Developed an interface between two accounting packages. Used Visual C++, DLL, Btrieve, Platinum, Abra, FoxPro, ODBC.

Elsinore Technologies Houston, January 1998 - April 1998

Developed a Microsoft Developer Studio add-in to interface between Visual Intercept, a defect tracking application, the Developer Studio environment, and Visual SourceSafe. Used Visual C++, COM, ActiveX, OLE Automation.

CompUSA Dallas, September - November, 1997

Developed around thirty Crystal Reports/Oracle reports on a tight schedule by partially reverse-engineering the Crystal Reports file format. Developed a Visual Basic utility for printing the reports.

Day Trade Dallas, December 1997

Designed a simple web site for a day trading company. Used FrontPage, HTML.

Mik & Associates Dallas, December 1995 - September 1997

Worked as a software developer on various projects for twenty months. Projects included an order-entry application for Trane, a Btrieve database editor, and an application framework for object-oriented database programming. Used Visual C++, MFC, Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, Btrieve, Access, HTML, InstallShield.

Macromedia Dallas, June 1995 - December 1995

Ported their Fontographer font creation application from Macintosh to Windows. Used Visual C++, Win32 API, GDI, Metroworks CodeWarrior, Macintosh.

Created an object-oriented design to port an application used in a logic course from Macintosh to Windows. Used Visual C++, MFC, Macintosh.

Department of Psychology, The University of Texas at Austin March 1995 - May 1995

Performed maintenance of an application to time the responses of test subjects. Used THINK C, CodeWarrior, Macintosh, QuickTime.

Exxon 1989-1994

As an intern for six years, performed true programming. Wrote various auditing and reporting utilities. Ported a seismic picking program to an IMB mainframe and later a full-wave-form plotting program to SunOS. My most significant contribution was a geographical database application for the Macintosh to allow the imaging group to access a database of satellite images by location. This application was used for years after I had left. Also wrote security scripts and C programs for Unix. Used Macintosh, Windows, Unix, C-Shell scripting, FORTRAN, SunOS, Pascal, C, C++, Visual C++, Excel, Word, Access.
