Basic Hints

There are some walls that are funny looking (i.e. they have a little row of rocks on the bottom of the wall). These are MOVABLE walls. You can PUSH them. To push these walls, click the 'Right' mouse button on the MOVE FORWARD ICON. Only move it forward ONCE, because move it twice and you might block off something else.

Brass knuckles, gloves, knives, and swords that you find, serve no real purpose. Keep them around to mark areas you have explored fully, etc. Also, after you write down a computer code from one of the clipboards, sell it! They are worth 200 bucks. The maps (usage is unknown) are worth 500 bucks.

When exploring the higher planets, remember the following: Every Switch has a purpose. It's always good to scout out an area that is safe, so you can rest or recharge and not be disturbed while doing so. ALWAYS be prepared to move to a better position after you open a cupboard thing (two small metal doors on a wall), because it might open up a wall so enemies can kill you!

The higher levels are tricky. You sometimes have to push the bare wall that shows inside of the cupboards, because there might be a little movable brick that will open a door! This goes for the bricks that have already been moved and the bricks that don't seem to be moved (look like a normal sets of bricks). It's complicated, but just remember you can't be "stuck" in a part of the maze, there is always a way out!

Play with a friend. This is VERY helpful. Have your friend control the mouse and you control the keyboard. That way, you can move all around with the keyboard, and he or she can kill and recharge, and buy and everything else with the mouse. Saves many a life! The original author could not have gotten past level 2 without using the keyboard to move. Plus it saves wear and tear on the left mouse button. I know so many people who have bad mice. Use BOTH keyboard and mouse, or don't play.

Check EVERY shop. Some sell weapons, some sell armor, some sell nothing worthwhile. But, always check. Stores that sell weapons, buy back weapons at full price, and repair weapons at lowest cost. Shops that sell armor, buy back armor at full price, and repair at lowest price.

At (around) level 3 you will have an option of buying some yellow armor (it will be the third type of armor on the list). This is good armor. Buy the full armor of this type (selling your old) for the front two people, and buy chest plates for the back two (always purchase SUPER for all types of armor). When you get to level 4, buy this type for ALL your people. You will also be able to buy rifles on level 3. Do this!

Once in awhile you will come up against a normal looking human character that is really a mutant human. He will NOT attack you until you attack him. When you DO attack him, he sprouts a big wolf head and bites you quite nastily. Mutant humans ALWAYS have a bit of paper on them with a computer code on it, and some money.

Maybe once in every four hours of play, a little bogus red box will pop up saying "GURU MEDITATION ERROR 0000004.000 DROID LINK TERMINATED, PRESS LEFT MOUSE BUTTON TO RETRY." Just click the Left Mouse Button, it's just a joke in the game from the programmer. Ha ha, not very funny!

You use the green probes on the galactic map. Just drop one on the galactic map and it will locate the next base for you to raid. Simple.

Anti-Gravity is very important. You can use it in the dungeons to float over water and not get hurt.

Fighting Tactics

It is a decent tactic to slam the door on an enemy that is in a door way, while you attack it. Thus, it takes damage from both the door and your attacking it.

Purple Worm run-a-bout: This is where you lure your enemy into an open area (at least 4 x 4 square) and attack it and then move away. Then when it moves to your old position, you attack while it is facing away from you, then side-step again and turn. Continue doing this as it is an excellent way to eliminate a single group of foes.

Retreat: This is where you're in a long stream of corridors and an enemy pops up that is powerful. Attack, move back a space, and when the enemy takes your old position, attack and move back again. Since you normally are faster at attacking then the enemy it works out OK, as long as you don't back yourself into a close space. With enemies that can shoot, just attack them at junctions, so they are facing away from you. Enemies can only attack that which they are facing.

When you climb up a ladder just to face some nasties, we will just say that down is the safe area and up is the dangerous one). Recharge your weapon, climb up, and attack and before your enemy attacks back, when you've fired all you can (when all your hands are shaded) climb back down. Keep doing this until all enemies are dead. Also, sometimes enemies will move around, so the next time you go up, they could be behind you. It's good if you can get them from behind.

There are some obstacles that your enemies can not progress through (i.e. WATER, FIRE, DRAINS, and FIRE HYDRANTS). So, if there are some squares that are impassable to monsters in front of a corridor that holds monsters, get behind them (where you are safe from them moving forward, but maybe not from them shooting) and go left, recharge and wait for the enemies to TURN, then jump back and fire. When they turn to face you, jump back. So on, and so forth, and boom. You kill them and they didn't lay a pseudo-pod on you!

You can shoot the electricity that electrifies your finger in the light sockets. Basically, you just find a spot that's safe and juice up, run to the enemies and fire away. It's got a good range and does heavy damage. Good weapon.

Some Creatures will not be hit by your weapons (either the weapons will fire too low to hit flying creatures (like pistols do) or fire too high to hit small creatures (like RIFLES)). So, if you have pistols and come up against flying enemies, just use ANTI-GRAV (Dev-Scape Basic) and you will be on their level and can kill them! Or if you have Rifles and come up against low to the ground enemies, flip and use the rifles to hit!

Basic Level Help

You have to fly your spaceship, the Swan, to the planet BUTRE (coordinates 008w-072n ). While you are on the way, place the chips in the droids' heads. You now have to assign them a name. The chip is in the backpack of each droid. Once this is done, you will acquire the ability to punch. For the time being, it is the first means of attacking. Once you are orbiting, zoom in on the white dot and click on it. Your craft will land.

Wander around until you find the green door. A message from Ratt is at the door with a code on it. This will let you in, once you correctly execute it. Once inside, pick up the explosives and another message. Go to the end of the passage and click the right mouse button on the forward icon. The wall will move forward. Most likely you will encounter your first base aliens. You must explore the whole base by open every cupboard and door.

Pick up all sacks of gold whenever you destroy an enemy. As you gain experience, trade 'em on attributes. Before you can get out of the base, you have to do two things. Find the professor and kill him for the password for the computer so as you can get the planet probe (from the computer). Then you must find the generators and destroy them by throwing the explosives in the top of them. Once this is done, you must exit from the base before it blows up. When you are back in orbit place the planet probe in the map and it will head off to the next planet showing you the way.

The door codes are for the doors that you have to hit the little blue buttons on. So as in this example code:

34
21

means: (3) Bottom right, (4) bottom left, (2) top left, then (1) top right, will open the door. Simple. It helps. Since there are many possibilities, the computer codes are given below, just so you will have them all at your fingertips when you come up to a computer, and maybe so that you don't have to kill the mutant human that has the code... But it will give you money and experience if you do kill the mutant human.
