Space Crusade

Cheat

Choose your team, then press the corresponding key on the key pad. With 1 being the team on the left; 2 the middle team; and 3 the team on the right. Keep the key pressed down and move the pointer under the door and click the Left mouse button four times, then the 'Right mouse' button four times. The border should flash to let you know that it worked. While being attacked, press the 'Esc' key repeatedly. This will reduce the attackers' score and inflict less damage on your soldiers.

The JST HD installer readme

Short : HD-Installer & fix for Space Crusade V2.0
Type : game/patch
Author : Jean-François Fabre (jffabre\@club-internet.fr)
Uploader : Jean-François Fabre (jffabre\@club-internet.fr)

Install-Script & HD-loaders © 1997-1998 Jean-François FABRE

Space Crusade is ©1993 Gremlin Interactive

This install needs the 2 original Space Crusade - The Voyage Beyond disks.

FEATURES:

  1. Full loading of the game from RAM/HD
  2. Original edition and expansion levels supported
  3. Fixed for real 32bit CPUs (texts did not display right)
  4. Blitter bugs fixed (I hope so :) )
  5. Save/load games from HD
  6. Keyboard routine fixed
  7. Now runs with my JOTDStartup program called JST (not included). V1.1c required.
  8. Convenient installer script
  9. Possible to quit using the F10 key
  10. Runs even on a vanilla A1200 (using the LOWMEM tooltype)
  11. Removes protection password
  12. No need of the original edition to play expansion levels
  13. Nice Magic WorkBench icon :-)

Thanks to Beavis for donating the full-boxed game to me (Jean-François FABRE).

SAVING GAMES:

You need to go to the format menu before you can save a game. If you format, load, or save a game, nothing will happen (i.e your hard drive won't be accessed, nor will the floppy). But when you quit the game (using F10), the saves will be written back to disk. So if you saved a game, don't quit by a reset or you'll lose your changes. On the contrary, if you accidentally format your games, just quit by a reset and the games won't be erased.

MEMORY:

You need at least 2MB of memory to run this game from your Hard Drive. If you've got only 2MB of memory, you'll have to use the LOWMEM tooltype (or HDLOAD if you boot without startup).

If you've got more than 2MB of memory, but the game needs still more, activate HDLOAD instead. If you've got plenty of memory (like me), leave all those things alone.

BUGS:

If you've still got GFX bugs, select NOCACHE tooltype.

Enjoy
Jeff
