Land, dismount, and enter the monastery. Speak to either of the brothers raking outside to learn the she needs to go speak with the Grand Savant. Turn left, walk to the end of the room, and speak to the Grand Savant seated at the table. She learns that the brothers who've previously died are rising from their graves and causing trouble. They've been confined to the catacombs and she needs to see Brother Alto for passage therein. She now has the "Investigate the evil in the Brotherhood of the Eternal Word's catacombs." quest. Then have her face southwest and follow the wall until she can turn south and go through the door. Walk straight ahead to speak to Brother Alto in front of the empty bookcase. Leave her bow here, along with any items you don't think you'll need. It's suggested to just take the Earth Blade, the Chain Armor, Health Potions, and the Dagger. Unfortunately you can't get rid of the dagger until much later in the game! Have her head down the stairs, then turn left, and save when prompted to do so.
Slow moving axe-wielding skeletons are the only enemies to be found in the Catacombs until the boss is encountered at the end. They're far less difficult to take out than the skeletons in the room in Shadowmire, where she found the Earth Blade. They'll collapse into a pile of bones after three good hits from the Earth Blade, however the skeletons can usually get a swing in after two hits, so it's best to back away after two, then let the skeleton swing and miss, and then return for the coup de gras. Also note that it seems only to take two hits if she can catch them before they can leave their sepulchres. Head south down the stairs, and ignore the door at the end of the corridor, which is currently blocked off and guarding the return teleport plate, where she'll return to after clearing the area. Head west down the stairs and save your game when prompted. Continue down and turn south at the bottom. Continue forward, then turn left into the side passage and open the sepulchre and take out the skeleton, who emerges. Continue southwest toward the barred grating and a section of wall to the west may crumble, revealing a skeleton within.
She may have to go to the barred grating and then return in order for it to disintegrate. Enter and take it out, then continue downward. Turn north and walk halfway along the corridor, where she'll see another sepulchre and a skeleton on the move. As she heads in to fight it, the opposite wall section behind her crumbles to reveal another skeleton and a chest behind it. Kill it, then pick up 58 gold from the chest. Continue north and take out another skeleton in the western alcove. Turn around to the east and there may be another skeleton fast approaching. If not it will meet her just up ahead. Deal with it, then continue down the corridor. As she starts down the stairs, another wall section up ahead on the left crumbles to grant her access to a Half Mana potion inside and a skeleton waiting in the corner. It also just got darker in here. Continue to the end of the corridor and turn to the south. There's another Half Mana potion in the alcove to the right and an attacking skeleton arriving from the alcove to the left. Continue south toward the stairs and turn right and push the lever to raise the barred grate she last passed and cause a section of wall to crumble behind her, where a skeleton heads out to attack. Destroy it, then empty the chest inside of a Full Mana potion and a Health Elixir. Continue up the two flights of stairs and the wall section ahead will crumble allowing her access beyond. You'll note that she's just north of the newly opened doorway. Turn north and then east and grab the Iron Club near the skeleton. Return southeast past the skeleton on the floor and then head south down the corridor into the large circular bi-level room.
There are two sarcophagi on each side of the next room. Approach them to release the skeletons within. Slay all of the skeletons, then head south down the stairs. As she nears the stairs you'll hear the floor below break up. Save your game at this point. Head cautiously down the center of the stairway to the south. Note that there's a drop off a couple of steps beyond, where the floor has cracked open. Note also the edge of the floor way beyond, which is closer to her at this point. Have her run and jump to catch the edge. She'll hang on, then pull herself up to get across. Head south down into the next room. The wall section on southwest side of the next room can be broken, revealing a Steel Mace, a Necklace (35 gold), and 45 gold in sacks. The wall section on the opposite side will crumble on its own, releasing a skeleton, who wants to hurt her. Continue around the pillar to the south. When she reaches the stairs, the wall on the right will crumble, revealing a skeleton and a chest with 47 gold. Save your game again and head upstairs to the east toward the room with the dancing flames.
There are four chests along the left wall with a door in between. She can probably loot the chests in the southwest corner of 49 gold and a Full Mana potion before the doors close, and she must fight sixteen skeletons in the dark. Fortunately their blue eyes glow. The "running by and slashing on the way" attack works well against them. Get a Life Potion and 37 gold from the southeast chests, then head out of the room to the south. Have her head down the corridor. The left wall section will crumble revealing a skeleton. The wall on the opposite side may be attacked to reveal two chests containing 17 gold and a Full Mana potion. The room beyond to the south contains ten skeletons in sarcophagi. The one on the right just inside the door is the first one to open. As each skeleton is destroyed another arises so she can fight them one at a time. It's not an overly difficult battle. The next one comes at her from the leftmost sepulchre on the south wall. The third arrives from the southeast corner, while the fourth steps out of the central sepulchre on the south wall. The fifth as do most all, will come typically from behind, from the sepulchre to the right of the entrance as she's now facing it. Well here comes the sixth from the northeast sepulchre, while the seventh comes from the rightmost sepulchre on the south wall. Here comes number eight over from the right hand coffin on the west wall. Nine and ten advance from the northeast corner. When done, have her head west into the next room. Must have been an earthquake! Wait for the floor to stop collapsing, then save your game just in case. Run and jump across from just left of the burning brazier and head around and jump up to the western doorway. The northeastern doorway will take her back the way she's just come from, so jump up on the floor section to the west, then head over to the last section to the south. Jump up and head through the doorway to the east. Take out the two skeletons in the corridor, then enter the next room.
First head straight into the room with the two chests and a number of barrels. Get a Necklace (35 gold) from the barrel in the northeastern corner. Find the Iron Club near the two barrels in the southwester corner, which can be smashed for 79 gold. Get a Health Elixir and 19 gold from the two chests. Finally grab a Full Mana potion and 107 gold from the three barrels on the left. Save her progress, then head north and downstairs into a large room with a number of individuals suspended on hooks from the ceiling. The Bone Lord will appear as she enters the room. He'll chide her for destroying his brethren. She asks him why they're fighting and he tells her that the master has reanimated them to do his bidding. Then the battle begins. He wields the cool Flamestrike sword, which she'll receive when she wins, and only two attacks, which are a normal sword slash or combo, and an expanding ring of fire spell. Just stay inside the ring of fire and run rings around him slashing all the while. He may be joined by one or both of the two skeletons from the southern alcoves. Ten to twelve hits should be enough to take him out. Have her take the Flamestrike sword, which he dropped (15 Attack, 300 Durability, Fast, Armor Piercing, sets enemies on fire, and has fire based magical attacking capability). She'll make good use of it for some time to come. Explore the southwestern room, which contains five barrels (281 gold) and two chests (84 gold). The southeastern room on the other hand appears to be empty save for possibly the remaining skeleton. However if she attacks the wall on the left where the mortar line runs straight down, she'll reveal an alcove containing a chest and two barrels. The chest opens to reveal an Invulnerability Potion while the barrel contains 96 - 106 gold. Head back out and north towards the doorway with the blue light beyond. Have her walk forward and step onto the glowing transport device to have her teleported back to the beginning of the dungeon. The formerly barred doorway is opened as she arrives. Have her head upstairs and save your status when prompted.
Have her head back out into the outer room and speak to the Grand Savant to receive 1,000 pieces of Gold. Now she can head outside and greet or call Arokh and fly northwest back to the blacksmith's and sell off her excess items. If a pair of Blackwings make an appearance off to the west, target them (press the 'R2' button) as soon they come into range and use Arokh's relatively long range Flame Breath attack to take them out without a scratch to Rynn and Arokh in the process. Return to the monastery for her bow and whatever else may have been left if she didn't manage to pick them up on the way out.
