Drakan: The Ancients' Gates (Sony) - The Lower Ruins

"... there is beauty in darkness! You shall see!" says Gothraul as she materializes on the receiving teleporter pad in Gothraul's domain. Hmm, look at that ragged narrow pathway. Saving here would be a good idea. Casting Time Slow will also make this battle much easier. Three skeletons will attack as she gets half way across. Have her fight them in the wider area just beyond as she's far less likely to fall over the side during battle. A fourth will move in to attack as she heads for the tunnel opening. Head east into the passageway and collect 50 - 75 gold from the farther of the two barrels in the corner. Turn north and proceed down the corridor. A section of wall will swing open as she rounds the corner to the east. Enter the room to the north and battle the two Skeletons within. Head over to the switch in the east alcove and throw it to open another wall section just outside. Have her jump on the sepulchre to obtain a Health Elixir. Exit the room and head southeast through the new opening. Battle the lone Skeleton and ignore the chest straight ahead as it contains Scale Armor, which she doesn't need and no doubt can't carry anyway. Proceed east, north, then east again and enter the room to battle three Skeletons on a fairly narrow floor segment. The two side recesses in here yield a Mithril Great Sword and a Flame Burst bow. You'll want to have her drop the sword and bow, that she picked up just a little while ago in favor of these two weapons. Continue down the stairs to the east, then turn south, and finally east again into the next room. Have her enter and the doors will close and four Skeletons will come at her as she enter the next room. When all four skeletons have been defeated, a grate in the north wall opens, revealing a lever. Smash the two barrels in the northeast corner for 0 - 130 gold. The second sarcophagus, with an open lid along the south wall, contains a Half Mana potion. Have her enter the newly accessible northern alcove and pull the lever to raise the grate blocking her path to the east. Head through the doorway, then turn south, and again east and proceed out into the graveyard. Save your game status here.

The grate will come crashing down as she steps out into the graveyard and two Skeletons move in to attack. Take them out, then walk past the pile of stone blocks and turn to the right to find the third altar. Place the Curious stone in it, then continue up the hill and turn around to the left to find a Mithril Great Axe on a stone slab near the torch. Save your game progress, then head toward the platform on the east side of the graveyard. Head up either stairway and Gothraul will appear seated on his throne to welcome her to his lair. Cast Time Slow and whack him repeatedly. She may have to finish him off after Time Slow has worn off. His main attacks consist of throwing his swords (i.e. a straight throw with good range, a cyclone throw, circling him at waist height, and a cyclone throw, which spirals around him), and several fancy chopping maneuvers. Head east up the center of the stairs toward his throne and take the Upper Ruins Key from the dias to the left of the throne after he dies. Save your game status and begin to return to the entrance. A wall section opens in the south wall in the room with the eight sarcophagi lining the walls, unveiling a room with teleporter, three chests and a couple of barrels in the southwest corner. Open the nearby chest to the southwest for a Life Potion. The two nearby barrels are typically empty. Get a Half or Full Mana potion from the chest in the other corner, and treasure worth around 187 - 300 gold from the center chest. Save your game status and have her step on the teleporter.
