Another cut scene follows showing Rynn and the Northmen riding their pack animals toward the entrance. The party dismounts and is attacked by five Half-Men as they walk toward the entrance. The Half-Men wield wicked appearing twisted maces and move fairly quickly. Have her chose the nearest one and attack it. All or most of the Northmen except for their leader, will be killed in the process as they aren't particularly potent and go down pretty quickly. If they didn't, Rynn would have nothing to do! She can retrieve the dead Northmens' hammers if she has room in her inventory, and take them back to the Northmens' Camp to sell for 876 gold apiece, but it's not really neccessary. One of the Northmen may leave 40 gold behind. After all of the Half-Men have been successfully dealt with, Arokh and Zaggoro appear and land. Zaggoro then casts magic to open the whirling portal. Restore her health, then have her mount Arokh, and ride into the tunnel. The first four barrels on the left contain 0 - 12 gold. The two on the right yield 0 - 140 gold. Then get 3 - 166 gold from the next set of six barrels on the left past the braziers. Note that the first three are exploding barrels. Save your game status when prompted. Rynn now has the "Restore the Gateway to Surdana" quest. Arokh professes unfamiliarity with the Half-Men, says they may be stronger than their appearance suggests, and urges proceeding with caution because these are their lands.

Have her continue riding Arokh through the tunnel, and dismount to break the barrels, since there're a few exploding ones scattered among them, which will injure Rynn and Arokh if he flames them while too near. The next set of six barrels on the right include two exploding ones on the right side of the group. Smash the others for 78 - 162 gold, then get another 31 - 100 gold from the nearby chest. There's a chest containing 52 - 138 gold and three barrels near it, of which only one should be smashed for 28 - 100 gold, on the left near a wall with an ice arch from which a legless corpse is suspended. Save your game progress before proceeding past the two braziers ahead. Three Archer Half-Men are waiting for them at the end of the tunnel. Arokh can flame the first one from inside the cave. You may wish to save before, during or just after the battle with these three. Two Mottled Icewings are lurking nearby and will attack almost immediately. She can smash the barrels to the left of the tunnel exit for 24 - 194 gold. Have them fly northeast a bit after dealing with the enemies around here, until they spy what appears to be a hut below. Have Arokh flame the Mace Half-Man outside. Then fly north just a bit and take out the next Half Man. Continue north and take out two more on the ledge above near the cave entrance. Return to the hut and land. Smash the outside four barrels for 45 - 148 gold. Enter the hut and note the two bodies hanging from the roof. Loot it for 53 - 178 gold from the four barrels, while the two chests offer 35 - 95 gold and a Life Potion. Just north is another area with treasure. Loot the barrels of 65 - 177 gold and another 22 - 36 gold from the chest.

Have her remount Arokh and rise to the northwest to spy the next cave entrance. Hover in front of it and blast the Half-Man, who comes out to attack. Fly around to the other side and flame the Half-Man on the path outside. Land and dismount to explore the cave, where she'll find 28 - 91 gold. Get her back on Arokh and in the air and you should see another Mottled Icewing hovering in the distance just behind a peak. There's also a hut down below (109 - 182 gold and a Life Potion form the barrels, 70 - 175 gold from the chests) to the right and three Archer Half-Men up above on the ledge near the next cave entrance as well. 50 - 100 gold can be obtained from a barrel near the start of the following bridge. Take all the enemies out and you may need to take out the Ice Catapult to the north as well. You'll recognize its attack by the distinctive swirling patterns of the ice rays it fires. Return to the first hut, then fly southwest across the bridge and take out another three Half-Men if they didn't already get them. Land at the first hut and get 136 - 137 gold from the three barrels to the left of the entrance and 0 - 30 gold from the lone barrel on the right. Get 200 - 204 gold from the barrels and a Life Potion from the top of the crate inside, while the chests yield 108 - 157 gold. Continue north and you may find 52 gold on a Northman corpse. Take 86 - 109 gold from the three barrels inside the hut.

Save your game progress before entering the cave, which is just past the bridge and first hut. You may wish to try flying Arokh around to the other side and taking out the three Archers waiting outside the tunnel exit, although a Mottled Icewing is lurking in the area. Two Mace Half-Men will initially attack as she enters the tunnel, however you can probably induce them to come out where Arokh can get at them. Smash the barrel on the left of the entrance for 0 - 100 gold, and the two barrels on the right for 0 - 50 gold. Take out the Archer Half-Man (0 - 46 gold) and get 71 - 165 gold from the barrels on the right, then 26 - 226 gold from the barrels on the left. She'll encounter another three Mace Half-Men as she continues through the tunnel. Loot the three nearby barrels for 75 gold. Continue on to four barrels on the right and 83 - 312 gold. The path now branches. Take the east fork and get 55 - 160 gold from the barrels and chest. Next go southwest for 195 gold from the barrels and crates. She's now back on the main path and again it appears to fork but doesn't. The cul-de-sac on the left is full of barrels and chests and contains 674 - 737 gold and a Full Mana Potion. Continue west for 159 - 178 gold from the barrels and crate. Get another 250 - 272 gold from the next set of barrels and crates, then save your game status, and head out of the tunnel. If the three Archers (0 - 34 gold) are still out here, they can be a bit tricky to dispatch. Find 110 gold in the barrels on the left as she exits. Call and mount Arokh after doing so. The Ice Cannon (hopefully just its remnants) lies just a bit farther on.

Take the opportunity to dispatch the Half-Men, they run across while flying further on. Another Mottled Icewing comes after them shortly thereafter. Take it out and continue. Up ahead another Ice Cannon spews its attack. There's a hut off to the left down below, being guarded by a Half-Man. Land and loot it for 254 gold, a Scepter (50), and a Full Mana Potion. Three more Half-Men may come to attack while she's inside. Arokh may well be able to take out at least two. Another 118 gold can be obtained from the barrels near the bridge above to the south across from the Ice Catapult. There's a small tunnel cave south across that bridge. Two Half-Men stand nearby ready to attack. Enter and find 66 - 172 gold in the chest, and another 94 - 226 gold and a Potion of Life in the barrels near the end. Mount and take off again. There's another hut down below, where a lone Half-Man stands guard. Loot the hut for 32 - 216 gold in the barrels, and 33 - 120 gold and an Invulnerability Potion in the chests. Continue northward and Arokh should soon mention a gate, which they'll spot a little farther past another Ice Cannon. The gate is guarded by a Yeti, which should be quickly dealt with. Land at the gate and get 193 - 283 gold from the left side of the entrance, and 105 - 110 more from the right side. Save your game progress, then walk Arokh through the gate.
