| Strength is the important statistic for this battle. Tidus and Wakka should be at 16, with Kimahri at 18. It drops Sinscale to attack your party members as the battle begins. Ignore them and have Yuna summon Valefor. Have Valefor attack with Thunder magic until its Overdrive gauge fills, then attack with Thor's Hammer, which should deplete at least half of Sin's Fin's Hit Point. Repeat this procedure. If Valefor becomes incapacitated, have Lulu cast Thunder (or whatever she currently has, that works best) magic and Wakka attack with his blitzball. Use Yuna to heal as required. After Sin's Fin is defeated, Tidus falls into the water and Wakka dives in after him. Wakka rescues Tidus and gives him a Potion. They now get to fight the Sinspawn Echuilles with no chance to save your game, but it's really not a big deal. | |||

| Tidus and Wakka have to take on the Sinspawn Echuilles by themselves. It releases Sinscales at the beginning of the battle. These Sinscales are the only ones in the game, which possess a Zanmato Level of 4! Ignore the Sinspswn as they will just regenerate when destroyed and yield no Ability Points. Tidus should attack Sinspawn Echuilles (use his Spiral Cut Overdrive if available) if he gets the first turn. Wakka should use his Dark Attack skill, which is almost always successful, to inflict blindness on Sinspawn Echuilles. This will cause it's nearly 60 Hit point damaging Dark Attack to miss almost every time. Your characters may even be able to dodge its Blender attack, if Wakka can get it on in time. Have Tidus cast Cheer on his next turn. If Wakka fills up his Overdrive gauge, use his Element Reels attack (use whichever element you first select). Have him use his Dark Attack again whenever blindness wears off of Echuilles. | |||
