Abilities
Countdown - Counts down from 5 to 1 then unleashes a Mega Flare attack on the next turn.
Mega Flare - Causes non-elemental magic damage upon all characters.
Strategy
Spathi's basically inactive while its "Countdown" is in progress, which goes from five to one and Mega Flare is then executed on its next turn. Use Shield when the count is one. Mega Flare causes about 7,000 Hit Points of damage, which is reduced to about 1,500+ by using Shield. Actually the damage varies as Shield 1 through 4 may be cast. If Spathi destroys an aeon and has a turn before Yuna can summon a new aeon, Yuna will not survive. Start off with Valefor and use Sonic Wing as well as plain attack. If Valefor survives to Overdrive, use its Energy Ray or Energy Blast attacks to inflict around 4,000 Hit Points of damage. The countdown will recommence at five. Next bring in Ifrit and have it attack using Meteor Strike until its Overdrive gauge is full, then unleash Hell Fire. Follow with Shiva and have her use Heavenly Strike. If Spathi's still on the attack at this point, your characters are too weak. Restore your game from the last save point and train them for a bit before attempting this again.
