Turn left and walk down the pathway. Have them turn left at the corner and walk down the next pathway until they encounter an area containing another set of Idol Doors. For now all that can be done is to go through the Idol Doors and out into the West Bridge area. Run along the bridge and take a right turn this time and continue on toward the West Arena. Have Yorda open the Idol Doors and enter. Have Ico climb up the ladder on the left and then bring Yorda up after him. Head up the stairs on the left side and jump and cut the rope to open the door below. Head up the stairs on the opposite side and jump and cut the other door loose, which will trigger the appearance of quite a few shadow demons. However you should not have much trouble with them as Ico has the mace. Get him down the stairs in a hurry, the portal is near the center of the wall that supports the two doorways on either side. Lead Yorda into the room on the left and proceed to the stone couch and save your game. Exchange the mace for a staff and climb the ladder to the right of the save point. Pull the lever to open the small circles on the previously mentioned wall. Light the staff from the torch, start down the stairs, then jump off backwards. Run and light the two smaller circles to open the larger one. You may wish to return and save at this point.

If you take a look around, you'll spy another cylinder down below the stone couch area. Head down the ladder and up onto it, then call Yorda down and help her up. After she arrives, the stairs rise up to the next set of circles. Note that once the larger one opens, flying spirit demons will come in through the window and a portal will have opened up near the cylinder (just as it did in the east arena) with more spirit demons materializing from it. Climb the stairs, walk over to the lever, and pull it to open the two smaller circles. Light the staff from the nearby torch and then light the two circles to open the larger circle. You should be sufficiently battle hardened now that you can have Ico fight them off with the staff. While it's a bit risky, you can also have him go after the mace and try to get back down and pull Yorda out before darkness overtakes him and then dissipate them up in style. After Ico has exterminated every last vermin, it would be a very good idea to save now. Regardless take Yorda up the wide stairs and up into and through the larger circle, then outside to the West Reflector.
