Wild Arms 3 (Sony) Little Twister - Sand Canal

Last modified on November 12th, 2004

Head northwest from Little Twister, then go up the northeast path, and finally head west. Search at the end of this narrow stretch of land to uncover the dungeon (Coord: X: 4,210, Y: 10,947). Entering the Sand Canal automatically triggers a cut scene, followed by a battle.

First Battle

Bosses

Jansa, Vendidurt, WisrasptUnknown360420None
Strategy
There are three of them. Jansa heals, Wisrapt casts support spells, and Vendidurt attacks. Wisraspt will dispel any of your support spells, so don't bother to cast them for this battle. All of them can attack for about 150 HIt Points of damage. Take out Jasna (the red one) first, because he's the main healer. He's fast and has an instant death attack. Go after Wisraspt next. He casts support spells and dispels any cast by your party. Virginia can skip the Mystic - Lucky Card combo because of the minimal experience gained from winning this battle. Use physical and magical attacks against them.

A cut scene occurs after the battle, showing them retreating, after which you will regain control of your party. Head northwest into the main dungeon. Continue northwest and step on the blueish tile in the sand. Make Gallows the selected character, and use his Steady Doll on the switch to move the blue block across the sand. Once on the other side, open the door with a Duplicator. Get a Name Tag and a Holy Root from the two chests in here. The Holy Root is used to cure all negative status effects. There are only four to be found in the game! Hence save this one until you get the next one, late in Chapter 3, as you'll then be able to grow more in the Secret Garden. Head back out to the sand hall, then head southwest and exit through the northwestern door. Have Gallows pick up and throw the boxes to clear the passage. Make Jet the selected character and head north. Have him throw his Boomerang and steer it to the Gem lamp. Once it hits the lamp, the door will open. Go through it, then head north and follow the path to the northwest. Get the two Lucky Cards from the chest at the end. Send him a bit south, and you'll note an odd wall on the sandy side of the room. Dash (hold down the 'X' button) into the wall, to cause it to fall over. Cross the sand to the southwest, and exit through the northwest door. Go southwest and walk through the area below the waterfall. Now go northeast and break the boxes around the chest, which contains a Gimel Coin. Return back under the waterfall, and go south. go through the semi-hidden door. Save your game using a Gimel Coin, then go northwest to trigger a cut scene.

Second Battle

Strategy
There are again three of them. Jansa heals himself and the other two for 200 - 300 Hit Points, Wisrapt casts support spells, and Vendidurt attacks. Wisraspt will dispel any of your support spells, so don't bother to cast them for this battle either. All of them can attack for about 100 - 150 HIt Points of damage. Take out Jasna (the red one) first, because he's the main healer. He's fast and has an instant death attack. Go after Wisraspt next. He casts support spells and dispels any cast by your party. Virginia can skip the Mystic - Lucky Card combo in this battle as well because of the minimal experience gained from winning it. Keep your characters' Hit Points above 300 and use physical and magical attacks against them.

Another cut scene occurs after the battle, after which the three return with a fourth and the third and final battle commences!

Third and Final Battle

Jansa, Jasteuch, Vendidurt, WisrasptUnknown480560None
Strategy
This battle poses a far more serious threat than the last two because the addition of one extra enemy makes it so. There are again three of them. Jansa heals himself and the other three for 200 - 300 Hit Points, Wisrapt casts support spells, Vendidurt attacks, and Jasteuch is extremely fast and has an attack that causes 100 - 200 Hit Points of damage to call characters. His physical attacks cause around 200 Hit Points of damage. While Jasteuch is the much greater threat, you can take out Jesteuch and Vendidurt in whatever order you wish. Have Virginia use a Mystic - Lucky Card combo in this battle. Keep your characters' Hit Points above 400 and use physical and magical attacks against them.

Watch the cut scene, then head west and exit through the northwestern door. Continue northwest, exiting south through the next door to get a Heal Berry and three Gella Cards from the two chests in here. Return to the hall and head northwest up the stairs, then exit through the northwestern door. Welcome to the first of the puzzle areas in this dungeon. None of them are particularly difficult to solve. However if you need help, here it is. Have your character step on the first floor switch, then step onto the white block in the northeast. Wait for the second block to the north to arrive, then step on it and ride it over to the chest. Step off and get 4,000 Gella. Step off the platform into the sand to put your character back at the entrance. This time step onto the northwestern white block, ride it forward, waiting for the three blocks to meet. As this happens, step onto the far northwestern white block. Ride it until another three blocks meet, then step onto the block, that's farthest away. Step off onto terra firma when you can and open the chest to find a Duplicator. Once the block returns, step onto it and ride it until the three blocks meet again, then step onto the center block. Ride it until two blocks meet at a corner, quickly walk very quickly over them onto dry land (difficult but doable). Get two Seed Powders from the chest.

When the white block returns to the platform, step onto it, then step off ti at the next platform. Walk onto the southwestern white block, and ride it until it meets with two others, then step onto the southern block. Step onto the northern block as two more blocks meet. Step onto the next block, then onto dry land when you can, and step on the switch to initiate the second part of the puzzle. Here you have black and white colored blocks moving about. Jump into the sand at the switch to return to the entrance. Have your character get onto the northwestern white block, then ride it until it meets the other blocks, whereupon step onto the farthest block. Ride it until it meets two other blocks, then step upon the northeastern block. Ride it across to the open chest. Jump on the black block to the east, then ride it until your character can step off onto the last switch. Fall into the sand after doing so and return to the entrance. Step onto the blue block to the south and ride it to the platform. Head through the southwestern door to get to the next puzzle.

Start by stepping the white blocks and moving onto the far side of them. Wait until the black blocks rise, then step onto them. Move south onto the sole blue block, when it arises, then west onto the white block when it appears. Wait then step onto the single black block. When the blue blocks arise, step onto them, and then onto the white blocks to the north. Next step onto the black blocks to the north, then upon the blue block to the west. Step upon the lone white block to the west, then the black block. Step onto the next blue block, next head north onto a the white blocks. Step west onto a black block, then south onto a the blue blocks. Step west onto some white blocks, then west onto a single black block. Step south onto the blue blocks, then onto solid ground. Head south and exit, then go northwest, and finally south. Get a the first chest for a Gimel Coin. The second chest contains a Mimic, which has to be defeated, and will give up a Soul Feather. Head northwest, exiting through the northern door.

Have your character step onto the white blocks, then onto the southern black blocks. Continue onto the southern blue blocks, then onto the southern white block and onto the southern black block. Now step east onto the blue blocks. Step south onto a white block, then south onto a black block. Step west onto a blue block, continue west onto another white block, then onto the black blocks. Step onto the middle southwestern blue block. Step onto the two white blocks, then south onto the black blocks. Continue south onto the blue blocks, then onto the white blocks, and finally onto the black blocks. No go west onto a blue block, continue onto the whites blocks. No go south onto a black block, then onto a blue block. Continue onto the white blocks, then onto a black block. Now step onto the western blue block, then a white block. Turn south onto a black block. Next take the blue blocks to the west, followed by the white blocks. Turn south onto a black block, and then onto a blue to the east. Continue east onto a white block, and your character can now step off onto solid ground. Go east and activate the switch, which opens the door. Head west and up the stairs. Ignore the floor switch, which gan not yet be manipulated, and use a Gimel Coin to save your game. Go through the northern door to trigger a cut scene.

Strategy
You don't have to win this battle, and unless your characters are significantly higher than level 18, which is the bare minimum for this battle, you most likely will not. You do need to survive for 3 rounds. Don't waste a Lucky Card or a Gella Card, because you won't receive any experience or Gella at the battle's conclusion. Increase all defensive stats with Shield and Turbulence, and just defend. Keep your characters' Hit Points above 400. Janus isn't too much stronger during this battle. His Negative Rainbow attack continues to cause 200 Hit Points of damage to all characters, while his physical attacks will cause about a 100 Hit Points of damage. Janus will cast UltraNegative Rainbow after the end of the third round, causing 800 Hit Points damage to every front line member, reducing their Hit Points to one apiece and leaves them wondering what happened.

Your group automatically exits the dungeon after the battle, triggering a cut scene. Head west going as far as possible, and ignore the path to the north. Search at the far west end to locate the town of Little Rock (Coord: X: 25,292, Y: 12,559).
