WANTED:
CONDUCTOR for
Austin Civic Wind Ensemble

Who we are: The Austin Civic Wind Ensemble is Austin's oldest symphonic band. We are seeking a conductor to help us continue creating fantastic musical performances for our adoring public!

What we like: Old stuff, new stuff, weird stuff, blue stuff. Traditional, classical, folk-inspired, or experimental literature sets our toes a-tapping... We are a dedicated, fun, laid-back group that loves to gather weekly, rehearse and provide free concerts for the Austin community.

Who you are: A swell conductor who would enjoy conducting a 50 to 70-piece symphonic band, an all around good person with a sense of humor and relaxed attitude, and someone who can live with occasional (or even not-so-occasional) moments of imperfection. You are interested in helping us build upon a 25+ year tradition providing high quality music to our community, and you're free every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30. Oh yeah, you're also willing to take this gig for peanuts!

Are you our dream conductor?
If this seems like a good fit,
please email Kari O'Brien at
acwe_search@yahoo.com
and we'll chat more.

We hope to fill this position by the summer of 2003!

If you're a nonsmoker who likes long walks in the light rain, astronomy, kittens, jello and roller derby, that's fine too...but you're probably reading the wrong ad. Good luck anyway!

The Austin Civic Wind Ensemble is a
volunteer, non-profit, IRS Section 501(c)(3) organization
that provides free music to the Austin community.
