Cloud Warrior from Squirrel Works
Having acquired some out-of-production motors, I needed a rocket which could handle them.  Included were some MPC B3 mini-boosters and some slow burning AVI D6.1 boosters and sustainers.

I was expecting to need two different rockets for this, but Don Magness (Mr. Squirrel Works) recommended his Cloud Warrior, and I realized it was indeed suitable for both motor types.

The B3-0 boosters can be readily adapted up to fit in the booster while for the D6.1's, I left out the thrust ring in the sustainer so that the extra long (3.75") AVI motors will fit.  The booster is set up with a motor hook which can be moved aside to accomodate the long booster hanging out the back.

Assuming the B3's don't cato and the rocket is safely recovered, I will then try it with a B6-0 or C6-0 to D6.1 combo.  Again, if it's recovered, I'll try a D6.1 to B6-6 or C6-7 combo.  I don't really have the kahunas to try a D6.1 to D6.1 :)

I should get it painted soon and have it ready for NSL in May (where it will fly on certified motors).

At left is a photo of the jig used to keep the fins aligned while the glue was setting.  Foil covered popsicle sticks are clamped on with clothes pins to keep the fins aligned fore and aft.  Then tape is used as guy lines to hold the fins at the proper angle.
