It is our hope in #GenealogyForum to be a support group to you in your quest for genealogical answers, to help where we can and refer you to others if we can't. We believe that in helping others we ultimately help ourselves too. We are strickly amateurs but very serious about our genealogy; rowdy, sometimes, in our playtime; hopefully, companionable in the silences that sometimes occur when everyone is surfing the web, but always willing to stop the activities in progress to help if we can. Most of us have a doorbell installed on the channel door, just give us a few seconds to close what we are doing to respond. |

The format for the meetings is 'open'. The purpose is to exchange research surnames, ideas, URLs and information. The only channel rules are that you address people by the nickname they are wearing at the time and courtesy to all present. Try to include everyone in your discussions, they MAY be a relative!
Introduce yourself, tell where you are located, and list your surnames. Then show your Email Addy to tell us that is the end of your list of names. Then the fun begins !!! Compare the surnames you have in common with others researching the same name. Perhaps you will find a relative you didn’t know you had!! The least you will find is new friends and some great information.
You will find instructions for downloading and using the mIRC software on our "How to Join IRC" and "How to Use mIRC" pages. These are step by step instructions and should give you little difficulty.
