Webtv makes it very easy to connect for IRC.

1) From the Home Page/main page click on Community

2) On the Community page, choose Live Conversations

3) On the page that comes up if you are brand new you can click on HOW TO to get instructions, or just click on GO TO to continue with these instructions.

(4) On the page that comes up in the space under server type in crypto.afternet.org Leave the port as it is (6667). You do _not_ have to type a room in the room box, in fact its simpler if you don't. Then click on connect.

(5) The Afternet page will come up and if you scroll down you will see the #GenealogyForum listing if anyone is there. If the room is not in use at the time you will not see it listed.

(6) Click on #GenealogyForum , and the room will come up. You might want to click on People to see a list of who is in the room. Type your messages in the box at the bottom and hit send when you want to post the message to the room. You can play with some of the features on the left of the screen , such as whisper when you want to send a private message to only one person in the room.
