Alternative Investment Information
Here is a list of some institutions that allow you to invest in alternatives to the stock markets, such as neighborhoods, developing countries, housing initiatives etc. Though they give a lower rate of return, your money will go directly to the communities the investment serves, and allow people access to financial credit that cannot get it through regular lending institutions.

One of the heavyweight environmental groups has been very effective as one of the leaders against genetic modification in Europe, and scored a recent victory in Gerber Foods and Heinz Corp. decisions to keep GM materials out of their baby foods.
