FlashNet Technical Support Reference

To access the Internet Setup Wizard click on the Start button select Programs then select Accessories, now selectInternet Tools, Finally select Get on the Internet or Internet Setup Wizard. That will bring up this screen to the left. Click Next.

That will bring up the Setup options screen. Click in the circle next to Manual. Click Next.

Click Next.

For you to connect via a phone line you need to click in the circle next to Connect using my phone line. Click Next.

We Do not support Internet Mail. Click in the circle next to No, I do not \want to use Windows Messaging. Click Next.

Windows 95 will attempt to install the necessary file need for Dial-Up Networking. You will need your Windows 95 program disk to proceed from this point.  NOTE: This screen will only come up if the you have not already installed Dial-Up Networking.

 

Type in FlashNet in the Name of Service Provider text box. Click Next.

 

Enter in the local dial-up number for FlashNet. Click Next.

 

Enter in your FlashNet username in the Username text box. Enter in your FlashNet password in the Password text box. (NOTE: Make sure that the username and password are entered in all lowercase. Also, no dots, dashes or any other punctuation need to be entered in either field) Click Next.

 

IP addresses are dynamically assigned to you every time you call in. So therefore, click in the circle next to My Internet Service Provider automatically assigns me one. Click Next.

 

Enter in the primary DNS in the DNS Server text box as 209.30.0.9 Enter in the Secondary DNS in the Alternate DNS Server text box as 209.30.0.100 Be sure that these are the current DNS numbers.  You can contact FlashNet to verify this information. Click Next.

 

That’s it You are done. You have just setup the network settings in Control Panel , setup the Connectoid in Dial-up Networking and setup Internet Explorer. Click Finish.
