HOW TO WIRE A PROGRAM TIMER FOR SINGLE-REVOLUTION-AND-STOP "SELF-HOMING" OPERATION
-   Coin operated vending machines exemplify a usage of multicam program timers in a single-revolution-and-stop mode of operation, also known as "homing", "auto-indexing", or "self-indexing". The coin acceptor switch serves as the external, momentary-contact, normally open switch shown in this illustration.
-   This external switch "shorts" the open switch #1 of the timer, causing the timer to commence rotating. At later time in the cycle, the coin is dropped out of the coin acceptor switch and into the coin box.
-   But switch #1 by then is closed by the action of the timer's cam #1, thus operation is sustained until exactly and precisely one single revolution is completed. During that one revolution, of course, the timer has commanded the cup to drop into position under the spigot, and has also in due order commanded the coffee, water, and cream and sugar syrup, ect., in the correct and ordered quantities.
-   Set Cams #1 to minimum cut, which is 6°. Wire timer's Motor in series with timer's Switch #1, the Normally Open leg. Wire your external switch across the N.O. and Common terminals of timer's Switch #1. As shown.

HOW TO ADJUST ("SET" OR "TIME") THE CAMS OF A PROGRAM TIMER
ALWAYS - prepare an organized and well thought out Timing Diagram for your machine, process, or equivalent. Stipulate tolerances.
ALWAYS - let our Factory do your "timing" for you. This costs you nothing. We are thoroughly equipped. This is tedious, time consuming work unless you are exceptionally well equipped.
ALWAYS - set the cams of Program Timers on a bench set-up before installation into your product, including adequate tests and inspections. Never try to do such timing after installation, other than minor adjustments.
Our cams are fully adjustable. Simply hold camshaft from rotating with one wrench and grasp molded hexagonal hub of cam with another wrench. Rotate cam until switch is heard to click (or better to use a Test Light). Make or buy from us a suitable calibration dial, or use a timing clock.
