Description

The LLC4 Liquid Level Control combines resistance sensing circuitry with solid state timing to provide single probe level maintenance. The time delay prevents rapid cycling. The sensitivity adjustment, on adjustable units, allows accurate level control while ignoring foaming agents and floating debris. Transformer isolated 12VAC voltage is provided, at the probe, to prevent electrolysis. A tricle current of less than 1/1000 of an amp determines the presence or absence of liquid between the probe and common. The LLC4 Series can be used with many types of low voltage, (resistance changing) transducers to perform other control functions like temperature limit control, photo limit control, condensation sensing, and ice sensing.

CONNECTION

OPERATION

MODE OF OPERATION A- Drain Type: As long as liquid does not come in contact with the probe, the relay contacts remain in an unenergized position. If liquid rises to probe level, a fixed time delay* will be initiated. At the end of the time delay, the relay contacts will transfer to the energized position. They will remain in this position as long as the probe is in contact with the liquid. If the liquid drops below the probe, the relay will immediately de-energize.

MODE OF OPERATION B- Fill Type: As long as liquid remains in contact with the probe, the relay contacts will remain in an unenergized position. If liquid drops below the probe level, a fixed time delay* will be initiated. At the end of the time delay, the relay contacts will transfer to the energized position. They will remain in this position until the level of the liquid reaches the probe again. When this occurs, the relay immediately de-energizes.

*Note: The purpose of the time delay is to prevent rapid cycling of the relay and its associated load in cases where the liquid is turbulent.
