AUDIENCE:
Developers and other technical professionals that will be designing, developing and implementing interactive Websites using HTML, JavaServer Pages, servlets and JavaBeans.

COURSE ABSTRACT:
This course utilizes a combination of instructor-led discussions and interactive workshops to demonstrate the capabilities of IBM’s WebSphere Studio, Visualage for Java and WebSphere Application Server. Course will address both the design and assembling of Web sites and focus on the development and deployment of dynamic content Web applications. Topics discussed in this course include;  application security, servlet development and deployment, JavaServer Pages utilization and integration within HTML documents, and the basic design and assembly of interactive content Web sites.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon conclusion participants will have acquired these skills:

•  Understand the capabilities of WebSphere Studio, Workbench and Page Designer
•  Design, build, and assemble dynamic Web sites and e-business applications using WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Studio.
•  Using Visualage for Java to develop Java applications, servlets and applets.
•  Understand the role the JavaServer Pages and capability to develop them using Studio wizards and templates
•  Using the Java Servlet API for the creation of servlet applications
•  Creation of dynamic applications by employing servlets and JavaServer Pages to provide dynamic page elements.
•  Demonstrate the use of JavaBeans in conjunction with JSPs.
•  Discuss the accessing of relational structures with Java servlets.

PREREQUISITES:
Each student should have a basic understanding of the WWW and the role of HTML with experience writing HTML applications. Additionally, experience with Java applets, JavaBeans and relational databases is helpful.
