OUR
MYSTERIOUS GOD - Much of our theology as evangelicals is a direct
violation of passages like Deuteronomy 29:29, failing to take into account
that God has not chosen to reveal everything nor should we expect to be
able to explain everything! This paper uses Scripture to demonstrate that
our God is beyond the finite minds of men. Along the way, this doctrine
is shown to have practical application in many areas.
GOD
- INCORPOREAL & INVISIBLE - This article examines the Biblical
teaching that "God is (a) Spirit," a doctrine considered
part and parcel of orthodoxy throughout Church history. Incorporates refutation
of those teaching that God "has a body" (Mormons,
Finis J. Dake, and others).
A
BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO TRINITARIAN FAITH - Guest Mark McNeil
offers a compelling introduction to the pillar of orthodox Christianity,
the doctrine of the Trinity. This article differs from others in that Mark
carefully explores philosophical, interpretive, and practical aspects of
the doctrine.

JESUS
CHRIST IS GOD ALMIGHTY - An exhaustive compilation demonstrating
that Christ is truly GOD "manifest in the flesh,"
proven by numerous passages of Scripture.
"THE
ANGEL OF YHWH": THE PREEXISTENT WORD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT -
If the Living Word preexisted His Incarnation in the Person of Jesus Christ,
can He be seen in the pages of the OT? My answer is YES! Here I examine
carefully the OT ministry of "the Angel of YHWH"
- a messenger bearing the Name of God Himself.
KEY
CHRISTOLOGICAL PASSAGES #1: JOB 19:25-27 - A detailed examination
of this strong proof for Christ's Deity.
"LET
ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM" - In my article Jesus
Christ is God Almighty, I set forth the fact that Christ was worshipped
as proof of His Deity. Yet some sects - Socinians and Jehovah's Witnesses
among them - flatly deny this by appealing to the original languages of
Scripture. Here I answer such erroneous arguments.

A
DEFENSE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - The Holy Spirit is represented in Scripture
as both a personal Being, and as God Himself. This article is my attempt
at a detailed demonstration of this fact. Includes refutation of sects
teaching an "impersonal" Spirit.

ORIGINAL
SIN - This article has a threefold task: (1) define the orthodox
doctrine; (2) demonstrate its truth from Scripture, history, and experience;
and (3) answer its critics.

DID
OLD TESTAMENT BELIEVERS LOOK FORWARD TO THE CHRIST? - A scriptural
apologetic for the one people of God and continuity between that people.
Focuses on the title question, arguing that OT believers, while saved on
the other side of the cross, were nevertheless justified through Christ.
CHOSEN
BUT FREE? - Baptist pastor James Harrison offers a very
insightful review of Norman Geisler's Chosen But Free?, a recent
attempted rebuttal to the doctrines of grace. James points out, with some
detail, the many fallacies that run throughout the book.
TRANSFORMED
BY GRACE - The testimony of Sue Donahoe, a wonderful
sister in Christ whom I happen to attend church with. Sue turned her back
on the homosexual lifestyle she had been living and embraced the life-changing
power of the Gospel of Christ. If you think that people cannot change something
so all embracing, you're right. Furthermore, we are ALL in that same boat
- the one called "sin." With men such is impossible,
yet with GOD all things are possible.
PARTICULAR
REDEMPTION - Baptist pastor James Harrison looks at the
words "all" and "world"
in reference to the elect in 2 Corinthians 5:14-21.
THE
GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM - The only gospel proclaimed in
Scripture is the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, "the Gospel
of the Kingdom of God." What is this Gospel, and does it match
what is being proclaimed today?
INVITATION:
TO CALL OR NOT TO CALL - Baptist pastor James Harrison
offers a Biblical critique of the popular practice of the "altar
call." Get ready to rethink some modern tradition.
FOREKNOWLEDGE:
THERE'S MORE THAN MEETS GOD'S EYE! - An excellent article from
James Harrison on God's foreknowledge. Some claim that "foreknowledge"
is to be understood as "foresight." Harrison clearly
demonstrates that this is not what Scripture means by "foreknowledge"
at all!
THE
BIBLE ON DIVINE SOVEREIGNTY - Basically an immense compilation
of Scripture passages that call into serious question popular concepts
of "free will" and establish the general validity
of a "Calvinistic" soteriology.
Some
of these passages may have gone unnoticed and could prove shocking to some!
WHAT
IS JUSTIFICATION? - A guest article written by Ernesto Florendo
of the Phillipines. Ernesto offers a Biblical perspective on the issue
of our justification in Christ, including brief mention of the place of
baptism.
ETERNAL
LIFE - WHEN? - Many commonly teach that "eternal
life" is a present possession of the believer. In doing so,
such teachers exclude the full Biblical teaching on the subject. This paper
seeks to clarify this one-sided emphasis and present a more balanced presentation
that accounts for all of the evidence.

WILL
THE REAL BIBLE PLEASE STAND UP? - Baptist pastor James Harrison
gives a detailed treatment on the "KJV-only" teaching.
While James and I disagree on which textual tradition best represents the
originals, he does a fine job showing the faulty reasoning of teachers
like Gail Riplinger.

I
DON'T THINK PAUL DID IT THIS WAY! - Former Baptist pastor Desmond
Allen goes to Scripture and identifies several areas where the Western
Evangelical Church desperately needs, not improvement, but REFORMATION.
Desmond boldly holds the Western Church side by side with the Biblical
model - and finds that they do not resemble one another near so much as
we like to think. "Churchianity" is dealt a death-blow
in this treatise. NOT FOR THE SQUEMISH.
"I
BELIEVE IN THE COMMUNION OF THE SAINTS" - Ernesto
Florendo takes a hard look at "the communion of the saints,"
explaining from Scripture why it CANNOT mean what the Roman-Catholic Church
claims it does.
THE
CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST: UPON WHAT IS IT BUILT? - Ken Mansfield
offers this look at Matthew 16:13-20, explaining why the Church is NOT
built on the person of the Apostle Peter.
THE
PASTOR-THEOLOGIAN: WHERE HAS HE GONE? - James Harrison,
himself a Baptist pastor, offers this "lament"
- words sorely needed in this day and age. A challenging article for those
in ministry.
ON
"THE CHURCH" - Those who claim that
the Church is always and only "visible" (i.e.,
RCC, Orthodox, CoC, Landmark Baptists, etc.) often point out that the idea
of the "invisible Church" is not found anywhere
in Scripture. But is this claim correct? In this short article I show from
Scripture that "church" is used in the New Testament
in both a local, visible sense and in a universal, invisible sense.

REALIZED
MILLENNIALISM - A fairly detailed presentation of my eschatological
views, commonly (mis)called "amillennialism." Get
out your Bible! One reader wrote: "Thanks William. Excellent
reading - really challenging the ways I have always thought (and been taught).
I went to a pre-mill seminary and was too new in my faith at the time to
question whether the whole pre-mill idea made sense. Now I see that
it really doesn't."
WILD
TRUTH REELING BUT ERECT - A critique of dispensational premillennialism
from a Wesleyan-Holiness perspective. From Church of the Nazarene pastor
Curt Pegram. Great to read alongside my article, "Problems
With Dispensationalism" (below).
PROBLEMS
WITH DISPENSATIONALISM - John Nelson Darby introduced an organized
system of novel theology over a century ago. Christians by and large have
embraced these teachings almost unwittingly. But are these doctrines consistent
with the faith of the historic Church? Are such views consistent with Scripture?
"THE
PLAIN MEANING" : A REVIEW ESSAY - Edward Fudge,
author of The Fire That Consumes, gives an insightful critique of
Robert Morey's arguments in Death & the Afterlife.
IS
ETERNITY GUARANTEED FOR EVERYONE? - Ken Mansfield examines
the traditional idea that all men are by nature "immortal."
Will the wicked really exist eternally in hell? I implore the reader to
be prepared to "search the Scriptures with all readiness of
mind."

THE
USE OF IMAGES IN WORSHIP: IS IT BIBLICAL? - Ernesto Florendo
takes a biblical look at the use of images in worship, offering a defense
of the Protestant position against them. Consideration is given to Roman-Catholic
theological arguments for images.
THE
DOCUMENTARY HYPOTHESIS - Mark McNeil examines the widely accepted
higher critical notion that the Pentateuch (Genesis-Deuteronomy) was not
authored by Moses. Solid arguments are set forth for accepting the traditionally
ascribed Mosaic authorship. Very thorough.
CONFESSIONS
OF A FORMER SABBATHKEEPER - Former Seventh-Day Baptist Pastor
Tom Warner (now Advent Christian) tells his own story concerning
why he became sabbatarian, and then how he discovered that he was wrong
on this issue.
WHY
PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTED TO SECTARIAN GROUPS - While exposing and
correcting heterodox doctrine is important, a Christian sister named Rae
reminds us that there are some equally important overlooked factors. Factors
we should all consider when ministering to those involved with sectarian
groups.

AN
EXPOSITION OF 1 CORINTHIANS 15:12-57 - This is the key passage
to the Biblical teaching on eschatology. A clear understanding of it will
dispel the confusing maze created by modern "Bible prophecy
teachers."
"JUDGE
NOT, THAT YE BE NOT JUDGED" - A guest article written
by Ken Mansfield. Ken looks at the much-abused text of Matthew 7:1,
considering the passage within both its immediate context and also the
broader context of Scripture. Let's put it this way: if you're a believer,
you'd better be "judging."
THE
RICH MAN & LAZARUS - An article compiled from Holy Scripture
by Ken Mansfield. While an article in the works by myself focuses
on demonstrating that this story from Luke 16 is a parable, Ken's article
sets forth an interpretation of the parable by comparing Scripture with
Scripture. An interesting and original article.
GALATIANS
SERIES - A series of five convicting articles by Paul Veitch,
a Reformed Episcopalian minister. The articles are in order as follows:
JESUS,
THE BREAD OF LIFE - Guest author Ernesto Florendo takes
a close look at John 6, refuting the strict literalism of the sacramentalists.

CHALLENGING
THE NATURALISTIC PHILOSOPHY OF EVOLUTION - In this paper, I
introduce the reader to the philosophical nature of the debate on origins.
It is written from an apologetic perspective, with special emphasis placed
on the Intelligent Design Movement. [Originally written to satisfy
my honors requirement for an Introduction to Philosophy class -- the paper
received a grade of 99 from an evolutionist professor].
"REMEMBER
YOUR CREATOR" - A very detailed study of God as
the Creator, from a theological and Scriptural perspective. Demonstrates
the importance of this truth, looking at every major Biblical passage that
speaks on the subject. Theological and practical ramifications of the doctrine
are emphasized throughout.

ANOTHER
LOOK AT SATAN - Was Satan originally an angel in heaven named "Lucifer"?
Do the often-quoted Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 really refer to the
devil? And if not, then who is Satan and where did he come from?

WHAT
IS A CHRISTIAN THINKER? - This is the website's "mascot
article" that once graced the mainpage. Upon redesigning that
page with a dark background, I have moved the article here. Explains what
I mean by "Christian thinker."

ONE
HUNDRED AND SEVEN THESES - Or, "A Call for Reformation
for the Contemporary Christian Music Industry." An
article by veteren Christian musician Steve Camp which, in the spirit
of Martin Luther, sets forth 107 principles for reformation within the
CCM industry.
THE
CHRISTIAN CASE AGAINST ABORTION - This generation has seen the
uprising of prominent "left-wing" Christians, some
of whom have championed attempts to formulate a "pro-choice"
position from Scripture. IT CANNOT BE DONE, and here is why.
