ETERNAL LIFE - WHEN?

THE QUIZ

1. Matthew 25:46. When do "the righteous" go into "life eternal"?

2. Mark 10:30. Doesn't Jesus distinguish "in this time" from "in the world ('age') to come"? If so, in which of these is eternal life "received" (= 'taken'; 'gotten ahold of')?

3. John 5:28-29. Why is the resurrection of believers designated as being "of life"? Doesn't this imply that we in fact "live" at the resurrection (a fact clearly confirmed by Paul in 1 Cor. 15:21-22 where "made alive" = "resurrection")?

4. John 11:25. Doesn't Jesus here specify two distinct groups of believers, one of them being those who will, in fact, die before they "live"?

5. John 12:25. Must not death "in this world" precede "life eternal"?

10. Romans 8:18-19. What tense is "shall be"? What exactly does "the creature" wait for?

11. Romans 8:21-23. What does verse 21 refer to? When? Why do we only have the "firstfruits" of the Spirit (v. 23)? Just what exactly are we "waiting" for?

12. 1 Corinthians 15:20-26. Who is the "firstfruits"? When are we "made alive"? Then what happens next? Is death an "enemy" or a "friend"? How so (i.e., in what way exactly)?

13. 1 Corinthians 15:42-57. At what "trump" does our resurrection occur? Isn't this the time when we receive "immortality" ( = 'deathlessness')? Why do some teachers insist that believers are already "deathless"?!?

14. 2 Corinthians 5:4. When is "mortality swallowed up of life"?

15. Galatians 6:8-9. When shall we "reap"? What shall we "reap"?

16. Ephesians 1:14. When is "the redemption of our purchased possession"? What do we have "until" then?

18. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. What does "and so" mean? When shall we "ever" be with our Lord?

19. 1 Timothy 4:8. Wouldn't "the life which now is" be, by very definition, different from "that which is to come"?

20. 1 Timothy 6:12,19. If "eternal life" is actually our's now, then how could Paul instruct us to "lay hold on" it?

21. Hebrews 9:27-28. When does Christ come "unto salvation"? Has this happened yet?

22. James 1:12. When do we get this "crown of life"?

25. 2 Peter 3:10-15. Our "salvation" is connected to what day?

26. 1 John 3:2-3. What is our "hope"? Why is it a "hope" ( = a 'pleasurable, confident anticipation')? What exactly is there to anticipate?

27. Jude 21. Why are we to "look for" His mercy "unto eternal life" if we already have it?

28. Revelation 2:7,10. What do the "tree of life" and "crown of life" symbolize? When do we receive them?

29. Revelation 21:6. What does this "fountain" symbolize? When can we "drink freely"?

30. Revelation 22:14. When do we get access to the "tree of life"?
